Chinese Wine Tasting at Wine Merchant
The State Buildings is galloping into the Lunar New Year’s Year of the Fire Horse with a tasting of China’s terroir-driven treasures. The Lawson Common Room at Lawson Flats
Law, laughs and a little liquid courage collide at barrister Nicholas van Hattem’s new series, The Lawson Common Room, where big ideas are discussed between sharp minds. For his first gig, he’s roping in the Hon. Robert French AO, the legend who helped build WA’s Aboriginal Legal Service, plus solicitor, advocate and proud Palyku and Ngangumarta powerhouse Sophie Coffin. Cathedral Square x Suburban Vibes Concert at Cathedral Square
Grab a spritz from the bar, stake your spot on the grass and kick off your shoes for a Cathedral Square x Suburban Vibes Concert under the stars. Charlie Youngson starts the show with his signature folky blues before husband-and-wife duo Reuben De’Melo and Olivia De’Melo bring the roots, reggae and romantic rhythms to the lawn outside Cathedral Square. The bar’ll be open, the city lights twinkling, and the tunes will have you toe-tapping all night long.
Slush & Crush at Long Chim
Subterranean slushies and basement beats? Friday nights just got a whole lot rowdier. Head downstairs at Long Chim for $12 boozy slushies from 4-5pm and dance under the neon lights with DJs, spicy snacks and cocktails on offer all night long. Each week brings a different kind of chaos—from hip-hop powered by bourbon to tequila-fuelled funk—with this Friday’s all about disco and vodka.
Terra Nullius: Embodied at The Rechabite
You ain’t ever seen an orchestra like this before. Selfless Orchestra’s Terra Nullius: Embodied is a visceral mash-up of live music, contemporary dance and captivating storytelling that turns history, resistance and connection to Country into a full-body experience. Filipino Night at The Bentley Hotel
Mabuhay, party people! You're invited to eat with your hands, sing at the top of your lungs and join in on the Filipino fiesta at the Bentley Hotel. Tuck into a boodle fight piled high on banana leads, load up on pork sisig fries and let the live Filipino band carry you through the classic OPM hits before Pinoy-style karaoke kicks off. This is the loud, messy, unfiltered fun that’s been missing from your Saturdays.
Space Explorers Family Day at The Claremont Hotel
Strap in, amateur astronauts—Space Explorers Family Day is landing at the Claremont Hotel this Saturday for an intergalactic afternoon that’s out of this world. Kids can get their hands messy with slime, launch DIY rockets, and transform into celestial aliens with themed face painting. And while the kiddlywinks are exploring the cosmos, adults can orbit nearby with a drink in hand and a parmi teleporting from the kitchen.

Little Legends Family Fun Day at Victoria Park Hotel
The last Sunday of every month at the Vic Park Hotel is all about pint-sized pandemonium with crafts, costumes, roaming characters and chaos specifically designed to keep the kids giggling and grinning from ear to ear. At each Little Legends Family Day, little tackers can create, explore and dash through the interactive play zones, while parents can kick back, sip a coffee (or something stronger) and enjoy a peaceful arvo at the pub.
Oysters & Guinness Afternoons at Durty Nelly’s
Forget about oysters and champagne—this Sunday at Durty Nelly’s, it's all about oysters and $10 points of Guinness. From 2-5pm, oysters are being shucked to order, pints are pouring creamy as ever, and the craic will be constant, just as you’ve come to expect from one of Perth’s best Irish haunts. Get on down early and finish the week with stout and shellfish, just as Saint Patrick would have wanted.
Learn the Art of Shucking with Oyster-King Jerry Fraser at Servo
Ready to add oyster shucker to your resume? This is your chance to do it with minimal risk of sacrificing a finger in the process. On Sunday arvo, Servo is hosting two hands-on masterclasses with the one and only Jerry Fraser where you’ll learn how to prep, pop and plate oysters like a pro. You’ll leave with tales, technique and your very own shucking knife, plus snacks, sips and plenty of premium Leeuwin Coast Albany Rock oysters to practice on (and devour, duh) throughout.

Perth Festival
As if we weren’t already spoiled with shows and sunshine in February! From February 6, Perth Festival will be back to its old tricks, turning the city into a four-week hub of music, art, dance, film, performance and culture. Expect ARIA-winning acts like Baker Boy and Sudan Archives at the East Perth Power Station, intimate jazz and cabaret at The Embassy, world-class cinema screenings under the pine trees at UWA Somerville, and much, much more all month long.
Lunar New Year
Red lanterns, dumplings galore and enough firecrackers to light up the sky… it can only mean one thing! Lunar New Year has landed in Perth, and it’s bringing all the colour, chaos, good luck and dancing dragons you can handle. From bustling night markets and cultural performances to secret foodie spots serving up festive specials, there’s plenty to see, taste and get excited about. Toddlerfest at Scitech
If your smallest scientist has a brain that’s bigger than their body, beam them up to Scitech this month for Toddlerfest and let chaos, curiosity and creativity run wild. Happening every day of the week ‘til March 8, kids can build forts, squish slime, guide baby turtles to the sea, and blast off on a mini solar system adventure. Best bit of parents picking up the tab? Kids under 2 get in free. Not sure what the scientific term for a steal is, but this one’s it.
