The State Buildings is galloping into the Lunar New Year’s Year of the Fire Horse with a tasting of China’s terroir-driven treasures. Grab a spritz from the bar, stake your spot on the grass and kick off your shoes for a Cathedral Square x Suburban Vibes Concert under the stars. Charlie Youngson starts the show with his signature folky blues before husband-and-wife duo Reuben De’Melo and Olivia De’Melo bring the roots, reggae and romantic rhythms to the lawn outside Cathedral Square. The bar’ll be open, the city lights twinkling, and the tunes will have you toe-tapping all night long.

Subterranean slushies and basement beats? Friday nights just got a whole lot rowdier. Head downstairs at Long Chim for $12 boozy slushies from 4-5pm and dance under the neon lights with DJs, spicy snacks and cocktails on offer all night long. Each week brings a different kind of chaos—from hip-hop powered by bourbon to tequila-fuelled funk—with this Friday’s all about disco and vodka.

Filipino Night at The Bentley Hotel

Mabuhay, party people! You're invited to eat with your hands, sing at the top of your lungs and join in on the Filipino fiesta at the Bentley Hotel. Tuck into a boodle fight piled high on banana leads, load up on pork sisig fries and let the live Filipino band carry you through the classic OPM hits before Pinoy-style karaoke kicks off. Space Explorers Family Day at The Claremont Hotel

Strap in, amateur astronauts—Space Explorers Family Day is landing at the Claremont Hotel this Saturday for an intergalactic afternoon that’s out of this world. The last Sunday of every month at the Vic Park Hotel is all about pint-sized pandemonium with crafts, costumes, roaming characters and chaos specifically designed to keep the kids giggling and grinning from ear to ear. At each Little Legends Family Day, little tackers can create, explore and dash through the interactive play zones, while parents can kick back, sip a coffee (or something stronger) and enjoy a peaceful arvo at the pub.

Oysters & Guinness Afternoons at Durty Nelly’s 

Forget about oysters and champagne—this Sunday at Durty Nelly’s, it's all about oysters and $10 points of Guinness. From 2-5pm, oysters are being shucked to order, pints are pouring creamy as ever, and the craic will be constant, just as you’ve come to expect from one of Perth’s best Irish haunts. Perth Festival

As if we weren’t already spoiled with shows and sunshine in February! From February 6, Perth Festival will be back to its old tricks, turning the city into a four-week hub of music, art, dance, film, performance and culture. Expect ARIA-winning acts like Baker Boy and Sudan Archives at the East Perth Power Station, intimate jazz and cabaret at The Embassy, world-class cinema screenings under the pine trees at UWA Somerville, and much, much more all month long.
