Prefer to Stay Dry? Here’s Where to Soak Up the Avon Descent Vibes—No Paddle Required
Not keen to hit the water (especially after all this rain)? Fair enough. Luckily, the Avon Descent isn’t just for the paddlers. There’s a trio of riverside festivals happening across the weekend where you can keep your feet firmly on land while still catching all the whitewater action.

If getting splashed by river water isn’t your thing, how about snow instead?
This family-friendly winter wonderland in Caversham lets you watch the race fly past while chilling out in a snow play arena, testing your balance on the ice rink, and wandering through cosy artisan markets. There’s gourmet bites, local vino, and enough entertainment to keep everyone from toddlers to teens happy.
