What's On Thursday 4 December:
AC/DC at Optus Stadium
Hold on to your leather pants, because the world's greatest rock n' roll band (and I don't just say that because they're Australian) is heading down under for the first time in a decade! They'll be crash-landing at Optus Stadium this Thursday with their Power Up Tour, with Angus Young on lead guitar, Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums, Chris Chaney on bass, and Brian Johnson on vocals, ready to raise the roof with generational tunes including T.N.T and Thunderstruck. They'll be accompanied by special guests and fellow Aussie rockers Amyl and the Sniffers, so get your tickets ASAP to end 2025's concert season with a bang.
Blue Hawaii at Goodwill Club
Moving on from Aussie musical alums to something a little newer to our music scene, Montreal Berlin duo Raphaelle Standell Preston and Alexander Cowan, forming Blue Hawaii, are bringing their dreamy electro-pop serenades to Australia for the first time ever in a grungy performance in the Goodwill Club Basement. After a series of artistic reinventions and personal transformations, Blue Hawaii released their latest album, Diamond Shovel, in 2024, embracing 90s trance music with their own twists. The local line up to support this inaugural performance includes Promzon, local DJ and producer Lia T, and Coyboy. Doors open at 7pm, so lock it in the calendar and nab your tickets quick!
Luna Outdoor Launch at Luna Cinemas Leederville
Tucked behind the iconic Luna Cinema and guarded by a cheeky brigade of garden gnomes, Luna Outdoor is the perfect place to spend a serene summer night. This alfresco gem specialises in indie flicks fresh off the festival circuit, perfect for film buffs craving something a little offbeat. This season, they're entering summer with their usual cinephilic flair by opening on Thursday 4 December with Rental Family, a film that has charmed international crowds and serves as a cinematic love letter to Tokyo. This opening night will also feature music from RTRFM DJ Nicole Filev, complimentary sushi platters from Tsuke-ba, $11 Japanese beer specials, Idle Hands Drinks Co. cocktail tastings, and free samples of Frudi's chocolate coated raspberries. Talk about a cinematic experience!

Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side Of The Moon at Scitech Planetarium
Blink and it's been 50 years since Pink Floyd's iconic psychedelic rock album, The Dark Side of the Moon. To celebrate this auspicious anniversary of one of the most legendary albums to make musical waves, Scitech's planetarium is offering an immersive 45-minute experience with surround sound and visual treats that transcend everything you think you know about listening to music. For $50, you can settle in and embrace Pink Floyd's retro vibes throughout time and space, with showings at 5:30pm, 7pm or 8:30pm this Friday. Just keep in mind, this function is 18+ only.
What's On Friday 5 December:
Into The Dark with Calico at Hotel Rottnest
The temps are rising, the sun is shining, and the water’s looking crystal clear, which means one thing: it’s time for a Rotto trip. And as we slip into another balmy summer, Hotel Rottnest is making sure we’re properly taken care of with easy afternoon music sessions that transition into high-energy late nights on the water every weekend. This Friday, the feel-good sounds of local DJs and acoustic duo Calico will be leading the charge for a beachfront party that's welcoming summer in right. It's free entry, the bevs are flowing, and the Rottnest Express is running a 9pm late-night ferry on weekends to drop you home, so there's no excuse to miss this one.
Club Wicked at The Court
Ready to be changed for good? The Court Hotel, our favourite club that's always down for a good time, is turning pink and green this Friday night from 8pm to celebrate the highly anticipated release of Wicked: For Good (I've seen it twice, and I am obsessulated). Best of Both Worlds DJs will be spinning all your beloved Wicked tracks, alongside other musical favourites from Hamilton, Mamma Mia!, Grease, and more all night long, so be prepared to hit that Defying Gravity riff in the middle of the dancefloor. Get dolled up in your best Wicked-inspired fit (witch hats or pink bubble gowns, the ultimate dilemma), and grab your tickets for Club Wicked!
What's On Saturday 6 December:
Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant
If the city ever needed a sign that Christmas has officially come to town, it’s Perth's annual Christmas Pageant. Rolling into Perth this Saturday 6 December, the iconic night-time parade will light up St Georges Terrace from 7pm–9pm with twinkling floats, dancing elves, marching bands and more tinsel than your tree could ever handle. It’s completely free and wildly family-friendly, so expect thousands of excited kids (and just-as-excited adults) coming together for a festive celebration along the terrace as the sun goes down, ready for two solid hours of Christmas chaos in the CBD. And a little elf told me Santa himself might be dropping by!

Red Hot Summer Tour with Crowded House at Sandalford
Roasting hot summers are kind of our speciality in Perth, which is why we're hosting 2025's Red Hot Summer Tour in the Swan Valley again this year. There's a stacked line up of Australasian musical talent, including Angus & Julia Stone, The Church, Mark Seymour with Vika & Linda, The Waifs, and the main event, ARIA Hall of Famers and chart-topping legends, Crowded House. The sprawling lawns of the Sandalford Estate will be packed with fans, tourists, and locals who can't resist a summer wine as live music thrums across the beautiful venue. Shuttle buses will be available through Buswest so you can leave the car behind and truly let loose, with VIP packages costing $400 and including food and bevs in the Estate function rooms, or GA concert tickets available for $160. This event is 18+, and it's the kind of party you just can't say no to.
Wake It Up Vogue Night at The Rechabite Hall
Set your alarms and wake up, queens! House of Alexander is throwing an end-of-year bash hosted by the Boorloo Chapter in The Rechabite, and they're celebrating black, latinx, Indigenous, and queer folk in the best way possible; with flowing drinks and a fabulous dancefloor. This Summer Vogue Night is all about inclusivity and having fun, with events including Runway, Lip-sync, and Performance with a Bag for everyone to get involved in. GA tickets are $25, and femme queens and mob have free entry, whilst trans men and the black community can access discounted tickets by contacting the Boorloo Alexanders or house page for the code.
Into The Dark with Slapback at Hotel Rottnest
If a Friday Rotto excursion doesn’t quite squeeze into your calendar, have no fear, because Hotel Rottnest has got your back for some Saturday fun, too. This Saturday will see chilled arvo beats soundtracking your island adventures, before coming alive after dark with high-energy music sets right on the water, featuring DJs and our entertaining local three-piece cover band, Slapback. And just in case you forgot, allow me to reiterate: it's free entry, the bevs are flowing, and the Rottnest Express is running a 9pm late-night ferry on weekends to drop you home. Who could possibly resist that?
Melville Summer Music with Lloyd and the Leftovers & Dolce Blue at Yagan Mia Wireless Hill Park
Outdoor concert season is officially here and ready to stay, and welcoming it in with Melville’s Summer Music Series seems like the obvious choice. The series runs on Saturdays from November through to March, with stages set across different public parks in the City of Melville to showcase a variety of musical talents. This Saturday, Yagan Mia Wireless Hill Park is being blessed with two fabulous bands sharing their harmonies and strumming their guitars as the sun goes down, starting with the folk-rock five-piece from Freo/Walyalup, Lloyd and the Leftovers, followed by some alt-pop indie charm from Dolce Blue. The show kicks off at 5pm and closes at 7pm, and the best part is it’s totally free with no RSVP needed, just rock up with your picnic blanket and enjoy the tunes.
Christmas Markets at The Quay
If you're dreaming of a white Christmas this year, you might have to let that one go, but fortunately, we've got the next best thing. Elizabeth Quay is redefining the magic of Christmas with their Markets @ The Quay event, perfect for festive family fun, a shopping spree with your besties, or a bit of personal time to appreciate the most wonderful time of the year. They've got handmade goods from over 60 local artisans ready to be admired, browsed, and bought, from boutique jewellery to unique art pieces. There's also plenty on offer for the kids to embrace their Christmas spirit, with the Letters to Santa workshop (free shipping straight to the North Pole, of course), free lawn games, live Christmas carolling, and Santa and his elves roaming around for festive selfies. The final stop on the Rio Tinto Chrissy Lights Trail, the vibrant Bridge of Light, will also be illuminating the whole shebang with a twinkling tunnel of glowing LED trees. This free event runs from 3pm to 8pm, and it's ideal for ticking off your Chrissy list without having to brave the terrifying world of shopping centres this December.
The Providores Christmas Market at Mt Hawthorn
Italian Christmases aren't something we see every day here in WA, so when the opportunity to experience one arises, you simply must get in on it. The Provedores Market is lighting up Mount Hawthorn this Saturday from 9am to 4pm, showcasing 20 speciality Italian food and drink stalls, 25 artisan creative stalls, 10 young creators stalls, a pop-up bar, free games and art activities for the kids, and pasta cooking classes to really hone your skills for that Christmas lunch you've committed to. Festive fun will also be going strong, with the John Carey Christmas Dog Show and a visit from a certain Mr Claus bringing the merry vibes all day. Parking will be limited around Axford Park and Piscioneri Market, but buses stop right outside Axford Park for easy access.

From 5:30pm to 8:30pm, the Mends Street Foreshore will see fun activities for the kids, jolly carolling by the South Perth Lions Big Band, and a little intermission where someone very special will be popping in to check that everybody's been nice this year! This event captures what Christmas is all about, and all singing abilities are welcome.
Brass On The Grass at Victoria Gardens
The beautifully lush Victoria Gardens are going to be absolutely humming this Sunday arvo, because the smooth sounds of the WA Brass Band, East Perth Community Choir, and Highgate Primary School are set to take over from 4pm to 7pm. They'll hit you with some Chrissy classics and other sing-along faves, while face painting stalls, a Letters to Santa Workshop and food vendors keep everyone thoroughly entertained. And really, what is an event in December without a visit from Santa Claus? He'll be parking his sleigh and saying hello from 5pm to 7pm, so get merry and bright, and don't miss out on this free family event.
Great Southern Wine Producers Association at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club
In the wine collab of all wine collabs, the Great Southern Wine Producers Association is hosting the Riesling & Summer Wines riverside showcase, where the leading producers from across the Great Southern's five renowned wine regions will come together to show off their silkiest vino. This Sunday evening, the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club will be bursting with citrus-driven flinty whites, floral rosés, and light-bodied reds available for sampling from 4pm to 7pm for $85 a ticket, as well as the wine of the hour, some of WA’s most critically acclaimed Riesling. This exclusive event will feature producers from 3 Drops, Castle Rock, Cherubino, Duke's Vineyard, Ferngrove, and several others, alongside canapes, oysters, and local cheeses from the yacht club. It's the perfect opportunity to sip, swirl, and pretend to know what tannins are as you restock your wine cellar right before Christmas.
