So summer is officially over and we are a little sad about it, but it also means that the first weekend of autumn has arrived! Don’t whip out your onesie just yet though, because we have some awesome events lined up this weekend that require the beach, bathers, music, beer, cider and plenty of noms.

Here’s 14 awesome things to do in Perth this long weekend.

Friday 4 March

Sculpture by the Sea is in its 12th annual year of showcasing some of the most creative—slightly weird—and hilarious pieces of art we’ve ever seen. Head down this weekend to get first Insta bragging rights with all your friends and enjoy some drinks while watching the sunset at The Beach Club. Who knows, there may even be a giant goon bag again (lol).

The long awaited opening of The Mark Freo is finally here! If you haven’t already heard about The Mark, it is a social space on the rooftop of MANY 6160. It has some cool crate tables and chairs, a basketball hoop and some pretty chilled-out vibes. The Mark will be hosting pizza and beer nights on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as ‘Sunset Sessions’ featuring some of Freo’s finest local talent. This awesome space will be open from 2pm on Friday 4 March to kick off the long weekend.

If you’re a little bit of an organisation freak then this art exhibition by Brisbane based artist Katherine Clayton will be right up your (very clean) alley. Katherine considers the social and cultural importance around small, overlooked and intimate themes through a series of tiny objects. Primarily using wood, clay and textiles, she pays attention to the small details throughout her life and transforms them into art.
