We all know and love it as one of Perth’s thriving beachy ‘burbs: it’s Scarborough, folks. Chilled out, boasting stunning beaches (like all our beaches, tbh), plus a growing list of places to eat and things to do that'll make you feel like you're on your very own coastal vacay.

So, what better way to make the most of the Scarbs vibes than by passing the morning (or afternoon) by sipping on a great coffee or munching on eggs benny?

Here are all the best cafes in Scarborough.

Lady Latte

Tucked away in the hilly streets of suburban Scarbs is Lady Latte. It’s an adorable location, there’s always dogs outside, and the coffee is amazing. For the super hungry folks, we’d strongly suggest getting a serve of The Whole Hogg, complete with a pork chipolata, bacon, the tastiest spicy beans you’ve ever had, tomato, eggs and mushroom all with ciabatta.

The Wild Fig

Sitting pretty in a prime location, The Wild Fig is right on the beach and boasts chilled out vibes, great food and an incredible view. The kitchen here serves up loads of amazing dishes, some with a side of—you guessed it—fig jam and chutney. Our suggestion? Give the Grizzly Pancakes or the vegan crepes a whirl and come hungry.

Drift Kitchen

While it’s boozy new counterpart, SKØL, may have stolen a little of this spot’s thunder, Drift Kitchen still has to be one of our fave cafes in Scarborough. It has cool coastal vibes, awesome coffee roasted fresh from Leftfield, and their menu is to die for. Here's why: they've recently started doing a separate brekkie and lunch menu, with the lunch menu in collaboration with their neighbours SKØL.

Toastface Grillah

Your favourite, flavoursome toasties went coastal last year. That’s right, the legends at Toastface Grillah are serving awesome coffee and the tastiest toasties inside Scarborough's Indian Ocean Hotel. It’s the perfect pit stop to refuel after a dip in the sparkling water at Scarborough Beach. Dripping with cheesy goodness, you know this place never disappoints.

Kinky Swell

Located on Brighton Road, Kinky Swell is cosy, comfy, and most importantly, the food is downright delicious. With tasty coffee from Crema Coffee Co, they’ve got a cabinet full of fresh-made wraps, salads and frittatas which you can grab to go. But we’re really here for the brunch menu. It’s giving us drools galore thanks to hits like their buttermilk pancakes, lamb rosti, roasted bircher muesli, coconut oat porridge with berry coulis, sultanas and greek yoghurt, plus so much more.

Monty’s Cafe

The friendly team at Monty's Cafe are serving delish healthy eats to cater to any and all dietary requirements. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, paleo, gluten-free or just looking for a change, there’s something for everyone. For us, though, it’s the brioche French toast, nasi goreng or Thai chilli scramble that has us won.

General Public Food Co

General Public Food Co in Scarbs may be a hotspot for those scrumptious woodfired sourdough pizzas, but why stop there. Open for brekkie, lunch and dinner, there’s something for everyone here. Whipping up delicious coffees alongside takeaway pastries and other brunch goods from 6am, this spot won’t let you down. Pick up a sourdough cinny scroll for the trip home and thank us later.

Doric St Cafe + Kitchen

Another amazing cafe in Scarborough, Doric St Cafe + Kitchen is serving up some seriously impressive breakfasts that are pretty healthy to boot. Spicy chorizo eggs or pumpkin mash, or a super healthy smashed avo topped with a roasted mushies—how to choose? They also do a mean cup of joe.
