You’ll have to be quick to grab a table outside this bustling cafe smack bang on Railway Parade. Hylin has been leading the brunch game in Perth for yonks and the leafy little alfresco attracts plenty of folks and their furry companions. The streetx chicken croissant or cinnamon doughnut french toast are spot on for a bit of weekend indulgence and the classics like mushrooms on toast and smashed avo are just as good too.

The menu leans fresh and wholesome, with everything from fluffy pancakes to full brekkies done right, alongside consistently excellent coffee. It’s the kind of spot that makes a casual coffee run turn into a long, lingering catch-up.

Babylon Café

Babylon is a solid option for courtyard hangs, great coffee and a steady stream of very cute dogs—so much so there’s a whole highlights reel dedicated to the Dogs of Babylon. It does get epically busy, so book ahead if you can, or make the most of the coffee window for a quick takeaway.

The menu is anything but average—think rye sourdough crumpets, hotcakes topped with things like strawberry and yuzu syrup, vanilla bean mascarpone cream and milk crumb, plus punchy options like Korean sambal eggs. It’s creative, considered and very hard to order from.

There’s a cute little outdoor area out front where dogs are more than welcome, and the coffee is just as impressive as the food.
