Meet EMSCULPT Neo, The Incredible New Two-In-One Body-Contouring Treatment

By

If you (like me) are someone that is constantly seduced by things that promise maximum payoff with minimum effort and yet has been disappointed time and time again, I’ve got two words for you: EMSCULPT Neo.

The non-invasive body contouring treatment promises to build muscle and melt fat and huge spoiler alert, it’s one of the best treatments in Perth right now. Intrigued?

You’ve heard of EMSCULPT, what Is EMSCULPT Neo?

Emsculpt NEO uses a combination of radio frequency (RF) heating to destroy fat and high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy to build muscles. Basically the magnetic pulse caused by HIFEM creates thousands of involuntary muscle contractions, which improve strength and tone in the muscle. The heating technology, on the other hand, helps to remove those stubborn pockets of fat. You don’t have to be a scientist to understand the appeal of adding muscle while reducing fat, all while you’re lying down.

Under the expertise of the clever girls at Bramis, I was invited to come in once a week for four weeks for the treatment. The EMSCULPT Neo is administered through a large electric paddle, which can be placed on your abs, thighs, and/or bum, depending on your treatment goals. I chose to get my bum treated—bring on the perk!

How Do The Sessions Go Down?

Full disclosure: I got the original EMSCULPT a few years ago and the EMSCULPT Neo is way more intense—like WAYYYY more intense. After lying tummy-down on the bed, the paddle was placed directly on my skin with a velcro band holding it tight and then all I had to do was grit my teeth through the 30-minute session.

After a few minutes of contractions, the machine will switch over to a tapping motion to help break up the lactic acid that’s being released by your muscles which ensures you won’t feel any soreness after the treatment. My practitioner started me at a lower level during my first treatment—around 70 to 80% capacity—and by my fourth treatment, the machine was operating at 90%. I couldn’t crack the 100% but it’s my goal for next time.

Despite the intensity, I didn’t feel any side effects except for being pretty clammy by the end of each session.

The Verdict

If EMSCULPT Neo sounds like a miracle treatment that’s too good to be true, well, you’re right. It’s not a miracle cure that will replace a healthy diet and solid exercise routine but for me, the sessions served as a super boost of support for the exercise I was already doing, which I think sped up how fast I saw results (after two sessions), as well as how long they lasted (the perk is real!)
