10 Of The Best Indoor Playgrounds In Perth

By

Blessed with some of the world's finest weather, Perth/Boorloo is a paradise of blue skies, beaches and outdoor activities. The realists that we are, we accept that even in this sunny haven, there’s bound to be a spot of rain or a wildly hot day that threatens to keep the kids indoors and your sanity running wild.

Fear not! We’ve searched far and wide to bring you the coolest indoor wonderlands where your kids can let their imaginations run wild and you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing they’ll be entertained for hours. Here are some of the best indoor playgrounds in Perth.

Playdates Kids Cafe

There’s no denying it, Playdates is one of Perth’s finest and most Instagrammable play centres you’ll ever come across. Not only is it an aesthetic experience, kids can learn and play in the pastel coloured ball pit, jump in a mini Tesla (imagination time here), shop for fruit and veggies in the organic play market, style their hair, play dentist or try their hand at musical instruments. Our favourite part? The delightful cafe where the grown ups can wind down while their kids explore every corner of this space.

Inflatable World

Joondalup, Leeming and Mandurah

Go for parent of the year with a trip to Inflatable World where your kids (and you) can spend two hours climbing and bouncing on some of the biggest inflatable playgrounds in the country. The high energy activity centres in JoondalupLeeming and Mandurah are full of fun with knock-out wrestling duels, giant slides, obstacle courses, bouncy castles and climbing walls that promise absolute exhaustion after just one session—sounds like the dream play date.

Bounce

Cannington, Joondalup and Osborne Park

If you’ve got little adventurists, Bounce will be your new best friend. A trampoline extravaganza, expect nothing but a whole lotta fun and some very tired kiddos after they’ve bounced to their heart’s content. There’s a mini trampoline and playground area for little kids and dodgeball, basketball, high ropes, wall climbing and foam pits for the older ones. And yes, adults can join in too or choose to sit back with a coffee or some hot chips at the cafe. Each centre is a little different and they get pretty damn busy so we recommend booking in advance.

Little Land

76 Erindale Rd, Balcatta WA 6021

Little Land inspires play and learning through role-play as kids explore a scaled down version of the real world. There’s a growers market, cafe, cosy home setting, doctor’s surgery, construction site and emergency services area complete with a whole heap of props and dress ups to let kids go wild. It may be the cutest thing you’ve seen all week. For regular visitors, there’s pop-up stalls to keep kids on their toes from a vet to an office space, a city centre and caravan park. Make sure the phone is charged for this one—you’ll want to take all the snaps.

Mighty Jungle

This newly renovated indoor playground is the perfect spot to catch up with a group of friends and their kiddos or host a party—the cafe is pretty swanky and the play areas are equally as gorgeous. We reckon this one’s best for toddlers with lots of toys and safe play areas for them to discover.

For the little gymnasts in your life, there is no better place to play than at Jungle Gym. Whilst they’re known for hosting seriously fun birthday parties, you can also visit for a casual entry session—there are certain times for different age groups so make sure you check the sessions online. Kids can get moving and learn about gymnastics in a non-competitive environment with a big obstacle course that incorporates jumping, climbing and somersaulting. The best bit has gotta be jumping into the giant foam bit—even if it is near impossible to get yourself out.

The Beach House Kids Fun Centre

6 Halley Rd, Balcatta WA 6021

The Beach House combines inflatables, arcade games and building blocks to make a play space that’s great for toddlers and big kids alike. The massive toddlers area is decked out with powered kiddy rides, building blocks and ride-on toys, and there’s plenty of space for them to have a bounce on the blow-up equipment. For the bigger kids, there’s a 30 metre flying fox which we promise they’ll line up for again and again as well as air hockey and foosball tables, a huge climbing structure, an interactive bouncy castle and virtual reality.
