Tiny house travel truly has us all in a chokehold. We've seen a relentless string of new off-grid eco cabins popping up in wow-worthy locations across Western Australia from major players like Heyscape, Hidden Cabins and Unyoked. The latest to catch our eye though is Metricup Tiny House.
Situated between lush vineyards and golden fields dotted with sheep, this secluded tiny home has just landed at one of Margaret River's founding vineyards, Juniper. You'll find it just off Caves Rd, pretty much halfway between Margaret River and Yallingup/Dunsborough, so the location is unreal.
Within ten to fifteen minutes you can get to faves like Cullen Wines, LS Merchants, Vasse Felix and Cherubino—making it the perfect base for exploring the region's best.
You can also tick off incredible restaurants in both Margaret River and Dunsborough without having to cop a one hour drive either way, which we love. And of course, you can easily zip out to Juniper's own cellar door for tastings and even woodfired pizzas on long weekends too.
Location aside though, the house is gorgeous. If you don't feel like adventuring, just make a coffee and curl up with a book in bed beside the floor-to-ceiling window that looks out to a picturesque little tree-lined dam. At golden hour, pour a wine—you'll find a bottle or two from Juniper in the fridge—and enjoy a drink on the patio as you fire up the bbq. Come nighttime, you can soak up the stars from bed thanks to the extra window they've slotted in right above your head.
With no tv and no wifi (you do still get Telstra coverage), the whole place makes it super easy to immerse yourself in nature and genuinely recharge. Plus, it's got an aircon, fireplace and well-equipped kitchen, so as long as you byo food, there's no real need to leave.
The best part though? Unlike most tiny homes in WA, you can actually score a booking without planning a year in advance. Book your stay here before everyone else uncovers this new gem.
