Want to take in the sights of Perth’s most iconic attractions from the Swan River, but don’t have a skipper’s ticket? No problems. Meet Nauti Picnics, the ultimate combination of self-skippered boating fun with friends, BYO booze and of course, picnic food.

Nauti’s fibreglass boats are powered by electric engines of under-five horsepower, which means there’s no need for a boat licence—all you need to do is familiarise yourself with the operating rules before you head off. They can only go up to speeds of four knots, so you won’t be able to hurt anyone, no matter how terrible a driver you are.

Once you’ve reached your desired destination, you’ll be able to plonk yourself down on the comfy cushions around the boat’s wooden picnic table and treat yourself to your BYO snacks all while exploring a 35km-long stretch of the Swan River at your own pace.

Can't be bothered packing snacks? Let them do it for you by adding on a grazing board, and while you're there, you might as well ad the gin tasting—an entire bottle of gin with tonic, ice and glasses for you and your squad. Remember to share it around, these boats only go up to speeds of four knots, but it would still be wise to drink responsibly; you're out on the water after all.

Keen on setting off on a whole day of fun? Round up your passengers of choice (dogs are permitted, so you can get the whole crew onboard) and head on the Fully Charged return trip—six relaxing hours on the tranquil waters of the Swan River.

If you’re looking for a tour that’s equally as fun but half as long, pour yourself a glass and explore the 3-hour ElectriCity route where you’ll be able to snap some awesome pictures of Elizabeth Quay, Optus Stadium, Matagarup Bridge and more.

Because they’re self-skippered, Nauti’s boats can take you anywhere on their map—it’s up to you to choose your own adventure.
