Where To Celebrate NYE In Perth This Year

By Peta Brady
1st Dec 2019

With a milestone New Year’s Eve almost upon us, it’s time to get those plans finalised for the big night. The city will be a hive of activity with loads of free entertainment happening at Yagan Square and the Perth Cultural Centre, and there are so many NYE parties being hosted by some of our favourite venues that it’s near impossible to make a decision.

Free Events

City of Perth is getting right into the New Year’s Eve celebrations this year, with a huge line up of free events happening at the Perth Cultural Centre. Head down from 6 pm and check out some live music from rockers Cherry Jane, grunge outfit Flossy, pop four-piece Dulcie, and soul-jazz fusion masters Butter before ringing in 2020 with an official countdown and fab view of the fireworks.

Got kiddos in tow? Head over to Yagan Square for some family-friendly fun and a 9 pm countdown.

Return of the 90’s NYE Party

Ring in the end of 2019 with a return to the decade when cheesy tunes reigned supreme and all we had to worry about was having a good time. This NYE at Yes Please you can eat, drink and dance the night away to all your fave 90s hits for just $20, and enjoy one of the best vantage points in the city for the fireworks.

NYE Rooftop Party

This is one party you won’t have to worry about finding a surcharge-free Uber to get you home from, you can just disappear to your hotel suite. But before that, you’ll be partying the night away on the fabulous QT Rooftop to the sounds of Beryl Streep and DJ Nas, and eating your way through the roving food stations. Drinks will be flowing from 7 pm.

Sundowner NYE Party

Aurora Rooftop Bar are doing New Year's a little differently, and instead of counting down ‘til midnight they’ll be counting down to the last sunset of 2019. Refresh yourself at this free event with a complimentary Aperol Spritz on arrival and watch the sunset over the city skyline. The perfect way to kick off your NYE celebrations.

Origin Fields

If you really want to party hard, then the Origin Fields two-day extravaganza is where it’s at. With an absolutely huge line up of international and Australian acts including RÜFÜS DU SOL and Tyler, The Creator coming at you over New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, you’ll be heading into 2020 with a bang.

Bar Pop NYE Party

Bar Pop is back at the Ice Cream Factory for another huge NYE party, featuring six stages, 11 bars waiting to quench your thirst, pop-up food stands, a massive silent disco, rides, garden games—the works. The last five years have sold out, so there’s no time for hesitation if you’re keen on this event.

No Scrubs New Year’s Eve Party

This NYE, The Sewing Room are doing what they do best and throwing an epic early 90s early 00s party. The dance floor will be pumping with all your favourite hits from the likes of Britney Spears, Kylie, 5IVE and Destiny’s Child, and the party won’t stop until 3am.

Le Prestige

Le Prestige is set to dazzle you with old-world glamour this New Year’s Eve with an exclusive evening in one of Perth’s most iconic buildings. Indulge in premium wines and champagne to the smooth sounds of Fringe World award-winning singer Jessie Gordon and enjoy a stunning five-course menu. Classy much?

NYE Vegas Hyde-Away

Get your passport ready, because Hyde Kitchen & Cocktails are taking you to Vegas for NYE. Not literally, of course, but you get the idea. Sip champagne and get your groove on to some serious beats by DJ Carly, and be entertained by exotic poolside performers at this glamorous new venue. Dress to impress in your finest Vegas-appropriate attire.

Carnivale Masquerade Party

Bar Uma will be partying the night away in style this New Year’s, with a glitzy gold and silver-themed masquerade party. Guests can expect a glass of sparkling, wine or beer on arrival, live DJs, fireworks on the big screen, a live Instagram stream and prizes for best dressed. Entry is just $10.
