What's On Thursday 15 January:

Thursday Set Menu at Si Paradiso

Si Paradiso just became the place to be on a Thursday night, with a very enticing midweek offer—a three-course set menu featuring some of Chef Larissa Goncalves best, all for just $40 a pop, perfect for lingering and grazing the night away.

Unlike your classic set menu, the Si team has built this one to be flexible. Kick things off with scallop and blood orange crudo and a lobster crespelle, before moving on to your choice of succulent pork spiedini with kimchi butter sauce or market fish spiedini with limoncello butter sauce, accompanied by either green goddess salad or a honey mustard insalata mix. Cap it off with your choice of pizza, and you’ve got the makings of a seriously good Thursday night. Want to kick things up a notch? Opt into the extras, like a dozen oysters or a scoop of Si Paradiso’s classic tiramisu for dessert.

Speaking of kicking things up a notch, they’re also flinging the cellar doors wide open and offering up their cellar list at 40% (and there’s some great chardys in there to get into). If you’ve been looking for an excuse to spend your Thursday over good food and great vino, this is it.

A solo burrata will sting you $25 or double up with two for $40, with three rotating flavours available each week. Delicate, decadent and dangerous good, the live demos run ‘til 8pm. Trust us, you’ll be cheesed off if you miss this one.

Annual Cheese Dinner with Galleria Burrata at Cosy Del’s

There’s a whole lot of lactose floating around Perth this weekend, and we ain’t mad about it. On Saturday, Lathlain’s wine bar Cosy Del’s is hosting its annual cheese dinner, teaming up with their fromage friends at Galleria Burrata to make all your cheese dreams come true. There’ll be live cheese-making (including burrata being pulled, stretched and served right in front of your eyes) and an unapologetically-cheesy menu anchored around the good stuff. Think mussels toast slicked with whipped burrata and ‘nduja, cloud-like pesto and scamorza ricotta gnocchi, focaccia stacked with stracciatella and lamb from the hibachi, and, of course, made-to-order burrata.

What's On Sunday 11 January:

Si Paradiso x Magnolia BBQ Takeover

Unless you’ve spent this summer living under a rock, you’ll already know Magnolia BBQ. The cult pop-up by chef couple Jacob D’Vauz and Anisha Halik has built a devoted following on fire, smoke and deeply personal flavours of New Nusantara cuisine, selling out sittings weeks in advance during their three-month residency at Modus Coffee. This time, they’re taking over the kitchen at Si Paradiso for a one-day-only collaboration, with a bespoke Magnolia-led menu of re-worked Si Paradiso classics. We’d imagine seats in the dining rooms will be snapped up pretty fast, but there’s plenty happening in Si’s iconic courtyard, too, with a tighter snack menu, $2 Leeuwin Coast oysters and Dancing In Space DJs on the ones and twos.
