How The KKK Saved The Day

After a successful run during The Blue Room Theatre’s 2024 Summer Nights Season, the Klan is back and better than ever! Inspired by too many real-life racist regimes, Perth-based writer and comedian Amri Mrisho aims to deconstruct the workings of systematic racism, featuring an array of musical comedy to tackle racism in a manner that is both fun and emotionally honest. With a combination of outlandish hilarity and clever wit, this is a show that you’ll never forget.

It’s 1892. The sun’s down, the candle’s lit, and a young mum is secretly journaling her spiralling thoughts, all while trapped in a room with the most cursed wallpaper imaginable and a husband who’s more controlling than caring. Welcome to WALLPAPER, the latest from Monkey Brain, and it's eerie, emotional, and unforgettable.

Directed by award-winner Yvan Karlsson (Hell Is Other People) and starring the phenomenal Clea Purkis (Everything Flickers), this one-woman show is a modern twist on the iconic feminist short story The Yellow Wallpaper.

Never Have I Ever

Black Swan State Theatre Company of WA is set to premiere Never Have I Ever this June at the Heath Ledger Theatre. A bold, darkly funny debut play by The Guilty Feminist creator Deborah Frances-White, it explores identity, power, and morality as a dinner party between close friends spirals into a night of explosive revelations and shifting dynamics.

Featuring a standout cast including WA actors Emily Rose Brennan, Deep Sroa, and Will O’Mahony, the production blends sharp social commentary with theatrical tension. Known for her fearless feminist voice and international acclaim, Frances-White brings her first major stage work to Perth audiences, promising a night that’s gripping, provocative, and not to be missed.

Child

Child is a lively, soul-stirring blend of music, dance and spoken word that invites you to pause and reconnect with your inner child. Created by one of Perth’s most exciting musicians and multidisciplinary performers, Pavan Kumar Hari was inspired by his experiences of graduating from his studies and heading into the industry at full sprint. In Child, Hari invites audiences to Saraswati Mahavidyalaya (SMV), the centre for performing arts, where Hari grew up, to listen to and reconnect with their internal voice and childhood spirit.

The show draws inspiration from Western and Indian storytelling methods, and is joined onstage by harpist Kira Gunn (WA Symphony Orchestra; WA Ballet) and performer-dancer Mani Mae Gomes (A Resting Mess; Oddysea). Child is an invitation for
grown-ups feeling the weight of life’s demands to rekindle the joy, curiosity and freedom our inner child still holds. You can expect a cosy night of live music and dance in a well-loved Northbridge venue.

Disney’s Beauty And The Beast

A tale as old as time, Disney’s reimagined Beauty and the Beast is landing in Perth next year after making waves in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. The production stars a stellar Australian cast of unparalleled musical theatre talent, along with jaw-dropping sets with over 2,000 individual lights and costuming (yep, Lumiere’s flames are real) to truly bring you into a whimsical wonderland.

Get ready to embrace the opulence and spectacle of Imperial Russia, as Broadway’s hit musical Anastasia makes its Australian premier, landing on Perth stages in 2026.
