There are plenty of awesome pizza restaurants in Perth, but this newbie from the same team who brought us Jetty Bar, Subi Continental, Ruin Bar and Pretty Good Pizza has quickly become our new fave.
First of all, the space is really cool. Set in an old retro garage with high ceilings and a contemporary warehouse vibe, Il Falco manages to sit effortlessly in the sweet spot between casual, but not too casual, so you can just as easily pop in for a laidback mid-week pizza as you can a special birthday dinner or date night. Plus, with loads of picnic style tables and a play house in the alfresco area out front, we reckon it's one of the most family friendly restaurants in Perth.
As for the pizzas themselves... no surprise to see an Italian perfectionist is behind the woodfired beauties here. From the smooth San Marzano tomato base to the burrata on top, Head Chef Marcello Segalina is incredibly particular about his ingredients and the proof of this obsession is in the perfecto pizzas. Picture blistery, charred crusts, thin bases that go just that little bit soft in the centre and simple topping combos done well. To top it off, they've even got dips like truffle aioli and nonna's sugo to dunk your crusts in (don't tell the traditionalists), as well as some beaut Italian grazing goods to pad out your meal.
Throw on negronis and spritzes on tap, a banging wine list and the best damn pannacotta in Perth, and you have all the makings for a delicious night out.
No wonder the locals are all over this neighbourhood gem.

Gibney
White tablecloths, marble, jacketed wait staff and caviar bumps—Gibney is hands down the fanciest of all the venues under George Kailis' name. And honestly, it might just take the cake for 'most opulent dining destination' in all of Perth.
Tom’s Providore & Wine Bar
If you’re a Leederville local, you will probably recall the devastation felt the day we discovered the beloved Tom’s Cafe right in the heart of Oxford Street was closing down towards the start of the pandemic. But thankfully since closing the OG, the legends have come back with a new and improved Tom’s in Highgate.
