Somehow, while all the other cocktails were getting mixed, shaken and stirred at night, there was one that slipped through midday crack, and found itself welcomed with open arms into brunch territory.

You know which delectable concoction we’re talking about, right? Starts with “bloody”, ends with “Mary”. The cocktail that bends all the rules, whetting palettes from the AM to well, the other end of the AMs.

And because it’s that special, we thought we’d suss out the best bars on the Sunshine Coast that mix a damn fine, totally scullable Bloody Mary, from day ‘til night.

Miss Moneypenny’s

Miss Moneypenny’s is known for upping cocktail stakes with their lip-smacking concoctions, and their take on a Bloody Mary is no exception. Layering Belvedere vodka with a house-made mix of tomato juice, horseradish, wasabi, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, roast capsicum, dill, garlic, tabasco, lemon juice, celery, and salt and pepper, there’s no doubt in our minds that Miss Moneypenny and Miss Mary are totally BFFs. Be warned: starting your Bloody Mary trail at one of the best bars on the Sunshine Coast may or may not ruin all future Bloody Marys for you.

Even tomato haters can bend their feelings of disgust towards the very red, watery, strong-flavoured fruit (or is it a vegetable? Discuss!), if a Bloody Mary is done right. We’re not total cheapskates, but finding a drinkable cocktail under $15 is pretty impressive. You’re welcome!
