5 Of The Best Breakfasts In Caloundra

By Kellie-Jane Byrnes - 08 Oct 2015

If your idea of weekend morning heaven is relaxing over breakfast at a funky cafe while reading the paper or chatting with friends, you’ll be pleased to know that the southern Sunny Coast suburb of Caloundra has you covered.

From hidden-gem espresso bars to memorable organic cafes, there’s something to suit everyone among our list of the best breakfasts in Caloundra.

Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar

Although it might be secreted away in a little laneway in the middle of Caloundra, Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar has been getting plenty of attention since it opened two years ago. If your first thought of a morning is getting a good cup of java, this popular coffee mecca is set to become your new favourite. The espresso bar provides four different coffee blends at any given time, and is no stranger to rave reviews having received high honours in Beanhunter’s 2014 list of Australia’s top 100 cafes. While the venue has a focus on top-quality brews, and so keeps food bites to a minimum, you can still certainly satisfy cravings for a sweet treat with decadent brownies, cookies, tarts, slices and more.

Beau’s

If you’re in need of some hearty breakfast fare, make sure you pay a visit to Beau’s at Kings Beach. Here you’ll find a cool, urban fit-out teamed with relaxed service and food that will really start your day off well. Choose from tasty dishes such as banana pecan granola, the “Good Morning” (a big breakfast containing nitrate-free bacon, smoked salmon, free-range eggs, haloumi, avocado, sourdough and relish), winter butter beans, and a Spanish baked omelette. The cafe also serves up boutique-blended speciality coffee, cementing its spot among the best breakfasts in Caloundra.

The Pocket Espresso Bar

Another “pocket rocket” espresso bar (sorry, couldn’t help the pun) that’s loved by Caloundra locals, The Pocket Espresso Bar is situated at Moffat Beach. The bar is known for outstanding coffee and top-notch service, and also features a small yet tasty menu of breakfast items, including muesli, bacon and eggs on Turkish bread, “brekky” pies, muffins, cakes and slices. The ocean views don’t hurt either!

Greenhouse Cafe

If you prefer to stick to meals made from organic ingredients, head to the Greenhouse Cafe. This coastal cafe prepares fully organic, vegetarian cuisine made from locally-grown produce wherever possible. If you’re looking for the healthiest breakfast in Caloundra that’s good for your body and the environment, check out the cafe’s fresh selections including turmeric potato rosti; poached eggs with sourdough and green pea, feta and kale smash; cinnamon granola; and “naked” breakfast burritos.
