6 Burgers You Absolutely Need To Try This September

By Claire Plush - 19 Sep 2016

Call yourself a burger boss? Well, this is your chance to show us.

If you’ve already conquered Metropolist reader’s handpicked selection of the best burger joints on the Sunshine Coast, then you’re probs just sitting there twiddling your thumbs wondering what to do with the rest of your life.

Well, we’re here to help you jump back on that bun-loving train; at least for the month of September. Here’s six incredibly delicious burgers you absolutely need to try, right now.

The FOMO burger | FOMO

Mmmmmm burrrrgers. We love ‘em. Like really, truly adore them. And the Asian pulled pork burger loaded with wakame slaw and wasabi mascarpone is bringing the goods—straight to our bellies, with a little detour past our super-impressed taste buds. Our mouths are watering just thinking about the FOMO burger.

The Secret Burger | Downtown Burger Bar

No, we’re not going to tell you what’s in this burger, because then it wouldn’t be a secret. And if we cut the crap and get totally honest, the truth is, we don’t actually know what’s in it, as the chefs at Downtown are constantly mixing it up. So, our advice to you, is go to this burger den, be a daredevil, and then report back to us. It’s that simple.

The Brisket | Dirty Moes

It’s pretty much written in stone that the brisket at Dirty Moes is some of the best in the whole entire universe. So if you ain’t into sharing a log of it, then you’d best be ordering the mouth-watering (massive) handful that is the Brisket Burger. This baby is topped with mustard, American cheese, and their signature smokey BBQ sauce. And, if you’re really smart about it, you’ll head in on a Thursday night where you can scoff this plus a side of fries for a measly peasly $15 (normally $20).

The Breakfast Toastie | Moto

Sure, it may not be a burger, but it ain’t technically just a sandwich either. Let’s just say Moto is the new master of jaffles, and they do them so very, very well. Obvs there’s plenty of jaffley reasons to go back and try their entire menu, but if you’re visiting in the AM, we can totally vouch for the Breakfast Toastie. Crammed with prosciutto, Maleny Vintage Cheddar, mozzarella, smoked tomato, and pesto, it’s what jaffle dreams are made of.

Cheeseburger Sliders | Peak Wine Bar

Think of Peak Wine Bar and you think of a classy dinner with a glass of vino and a whisky for your fella. But we’re going to let you in on a little secret: these guys do epic burgers. At only five bucks a pop, grab a couple of their cheeseburger sliders and experience why we think your mouth was made to house them.

Middle Eastern Chickpea | Hello Harry

We’re the first to admit we love meaty burgers. But, there’s something light, fresh, and delicious about a good, no, GREAT veggie burger. Try Hello Harry’s Middle Eastern Chickpea burger with labna and candied pumpkin, and you’ll pick up what we’re putting down. It’s sah good!
