The Slider Files | 5 Most Drool-Worthy Sliders

By Claire Plush - 17 Feb 2016

The only thing better than a burger is a mini burger aka the humble little guy aka the slider.

What’s more, is that there’s a bunch of ‘em to try on the Coast, and we know just where to find the most drool-worthy of the lot.

Take your growling belly and your wandering mind out for a feed at some of the best restaurants on the Sunshine Coast, and wrap your jaw around these voluptuous morsels of slider heaven. You can thank us later. Or now. (Bottles of whisky are our fave, just in case you were wondering.)

Okay, so yeah they’re a small version, but Elixiba’s Humble Slider needs, we repeat NEEDS(!), to be added to the hall of fame for the best burgers on the Sunshine Coast. Seriously! Until we bit into this perfectly palm-fitting bun, we’d kinda put slider fillings in the corner with the pulled pork, beef, and crunchy spicy chicken. Lesson learned: nobody puts slider in a corner. One of the best restaurants on the Sunshine Coast, Elixiba are vegan maestros and totally showed us up with an incredible combo of “meat” patties (you know it’s not meat, when it’s “meat”, right?), smokey bbq and cheesy sauce, sandwiched between a fresh paleo bun. All made in-house, we swear it’s worth stepping outside of your slider comfort zone to try these!

High Tide

Hanging for some slider love and conveniently in Mudjimba? The only port of call you need to jot down the deets for is High Tide. Get super cosy with the share section of the dinner menu, and gaze into your partner-in-crime’s eyes while shovelling three delicious “special of the day” sliders and chips into your gob. How romantic!

Padstows SlidersPadstows

If making decisions is literally THE WORST part of your life, then we’ve got a pretty rad solution. Grab a chair at Padstows and order a plate of three mouth-watering sliders for 20 bucks. The only big decision you’ll have to make is which, out of the four fillings on offer, you’re going to drop. Will it be the steak patty, crispy Portuguese chicken, caramelised cider-maple pork belly, or the Portobello mushroom and haloumi? Tough choice, cookie. But totally doable.

Peak Wine Bar

Listen up, wine-loving folk! Maroochydore’s Peak Wine Bar has just released their brand spanking new menu and it’s a little bit, alright a whole lot, of awesome. So now, you can sip on top-of-the-line vino whilst devouring cheap-as-chips sliders at one of the best restaurants on the Sunshine Coast. And by cheap, we mean affordable, not fast-food quality. For pocket change, you can slider-hop between a traditional cheeseburger with pickles, pulled pork, and the bees knees, the soft shell crab.

Depot

Not only do they serve some of the best breakfasts in Noosa but Depot has upped the lunch anti with pulled pork and slaw sliders for lunch! Which means we don’t have to leave this place, like, ever. Except maybe for dinner. Grab a slider to go, find a posi by the river, and savour each and every bite—because you’ll probably demolish it in about three.
