A few weeks out from Christmas and you still have no idea what you’re cooking, refrigerating, stuffing or buying. And don’t even get us started on present shopping.

Everyone knows that it's a fact that food never tastes as good as it does when someone else plonks it down in front of you. And for that, plus a million other hive-inducing reasons, we suggest giving the whole cooking buzz the flick this year, and instead enjoy your day being waited on, cooked for and cleaned up after. Sounds perfect, really. Faultless, even.

Here are a bunch of the best Sunshine Coast restaurants open on Christmas Day. Enjoy.

Noosa Beach House By Peter Kuruvita

Noosa Heads

If we didn’t already have our Xmas plans locked in, we’d totally be eyeing off the Christmas dinner at one of the best restaurants in Noosa—Noosa Beach House. This year, you can book a table, sit back, sip on a champas and watch on as three incredible courses appear in front of you…then disappear, straight into your pie hole. At $199 per person, it’s not cheap… but you know what they say—you get what you pay for. And with dishes like brown butter glazed chicken, grilled wagyu beef with garlic custard, and Kensington mango parfait with coconut yogurt, it’s pretty much guaranteed this is one meal you won’t be forgetting in a hurry. And don’t worry if you’re Christmas evening is already booked up, because they’re also open for a mouth-watering Christmas lunch. Yippee.

Where: 14-16 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads
Cost: Adults $199, Children $95 (4-12 years old)

The Long Apron

Montville

Spoil yourself and your loved ones with an eatable Christmas present AKA the impeccable Christmas lunch at The Long Apron. Serving their award-winning cuisine, it’s going to be hard to top this stunning three-course banquet style lunch, complete with a three-hour beverage package. Seats will be snapped up, so if a luxe lunch with all the trimmings sounds like the way you want to celebrate December 25, get booking, stat.

Where: 68 Balmoral Road, Monvtille
Cost: $195 per person or $165 without beverages

Cafe Le Monde

Noosa Heads

So, you’ve got the whole family visiting and you’re looking for somewhere to dine that’s not too pricey in Noosa? Your best bet for a casual day out, one that’s still going to leave you a bit of cash to shout mum that cocktail she’s eyeing off, is Cafe Le Monde. These guys are offering a delicious three-course set menu (that features Bundaberg Rum smoked ham) with a glass of sparkling or beer, for a bargain $110 per person. Which is kind of unheard of, but very convenient, on Christmas Day. Got littlies? The two-course set menu for kids is a no-brainer.

Where: 52 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads
Cost: Adults $110, Children $49

Noosa Boathouse

Noosaville

How many times have you had Christmas lunch on a floating restaurant? (NB: Lilos in the pool with cup holders after a few Xmas morning bevvies, do not classify as floating restaurants.) Let Noosa Boathouse bring the ‘fancy’ to your festivities this year with a waterfront location and a four course Christmas lunch. Think Christmas antipasto, sweet and sour pork belly, pineapple glazed ham, and Bailey’s Christmas pavlova. And that’s just the beginning.

Where: 194 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville
Cost: Four-course lunch—Adults $199, teens $149, kids under 12 years $69

Pomodoras On Obi

Maleny

If a relaxing Christmas day lunch in the tranquil hinterland while overlooking the Obi Obi Creek sounds like your idea of perfection, then look no further than Pomodoras On Obi for all your Christmas lunch needs. Offering a four course lunch menu (that includes palette cleansing sorbets), Pomodoras is the perfect place to while away a warm Christmas afternoon. Cheers to that.

Where: 18 Lawyer St Maleny
Cost: Adults $118, children $50

Novotel Twin Waters Resort

Twin Waters

Did someone say buffet? We did. That’s right, Novotel Twin Waters is hosting an epic Christmas buffet lunch in their (air conditioned) Wandiny Pavilion. With live entertainment, a 2.5 hour drinks package, and all the salads, pastas, seafood, roasted meat and desserts you can possibly stuff yourself with, this Christmas lunch is sure to give you lots of bang for your buck. Very merry.

Where: 270 Ocean Drive, Twin Waters
Cost: Adults $169, teens $91, children $49
