A few weeks out from Christmas and you still have no idea what you’re cooking, fridging, stuffing or buying. And don’t even get us started on present shopping.

Everyone knows that it's a fact that food never tastes as good as it does when someone else plonks it down in front of you. And for that, plus a million other hive-inducing reasons, we suggest giving the whole cooking buzz the flick this year, and instead enjoy your day being waited on, cooked for and cleaned up after. Sounds perfect, really. Faultless, even.

Here are a bunch of the best Sunshine Coast restaurants open on Christmas Day.

Noosa Beach House By Peter Kuruvita

Noosa Heads

If we didn’t already have our Xmas plans locked in, we’d totally be eyeing off the Christmas dinner at one of the best restaurants in Noosa—Noosa Beach House. This year, you can book a table, sit back, sip on a champas and watch on as three incredible courses appear in front of you… then disappear, straight into your pie hole. At $190 per person, it’s not cheap… but you know what they say—you get what you pay for. And with dishes like maple-cured ocean trout with candy cane beetroots and brown butter or the roasted duck with green wheat, fresh cherries, pistachio and jiggery cream, it’s pretty much guaranteed this is one meal you won’t be forgetting in a hurry.

Where: 14-16 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads
Cost: Adults $190, Children $95 (4-12 years old)
Book: 07 5449 4771 or email [email protected]

The Long Apron

Spoil yourself and your loved ones with an eatable Christmas present AKA the impeccable Christmas lunch at The Long Apron. Serving their award-winning cuisine, it’s going to be hard to top this stunning three-course banquet style lunch, complete with a three-hour beverage package. Seats will be snapped up, so if a luxe lunch with all the trimmings sounds like the way you want to celebrate December 25, get booking, stat.

Where: 68 Balmoral Road, Monvtille
Cost: $195 per person or $165 without beverages
Book: 1300 272 897

Cafe Le Monde

Noosa Heads

So, you’ve got the whole family visiting and you’re looking for somewhere to dine that’s not too pricey in Noosa? Your best bet for a casual day out, one that’s still going to leave you a bit of cash to shout mum that cocktail she’s eyeing off, is Cafe Le Monde. These guys are offering a delicious three-course set menu with a glass of sparkling, for a bargain $95 per person. Which is kind of unheard of, but very convenient, on Christmas Day. Got littlies? The two-course set menu for kids is a no-brainer.

Where: 52 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads
Cost: Adults $95, Children $35
Book: Online via their website

The Dock

They might not have opened their doors yet, but we just know that The Dock is going to become one of the best restaurants on the Sunshine Coast very quickly. Part of The Wharf redevelopment, this new Mooloolaba restaurant is huge and will be showering their epicness on hungry Coasters on Christmas Day. Dishing up a three-course set menu for lunch—think: Mooloolaba prawns for entree, a mixed smoked meat platter for main and finishing with a NYC cheesecake—there will be sittings at 1pm, 1.30pm and 2pm.

Where: The Wharf, 123 Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba
Cost: Adults $89, Children $19 (under 12)
Book: Online via their website or email i[email protected]

Noosa Boathouse

How many times have you had Christmas lunch on a floating restaurant? (NB: Lilos in the pool with cup holders after a few Xmas morning bevvies, do not classify as floating restaurants.) Let Noosa Boathouse bring the ‘fancy’ to your festivities this year with a waterfront location and two Christmas lunch offerings (including premium beverage packages)—yep, these guys are accommodating. Take your pick from the Seafood Buffet or the four-course set menu. Both sound super satisfying but we’re a sucker for a buffet—especially when there are Moreton Bay bugs, Mooloolaba prawns and so much more on the spread. Mmmm!

Where: 194 Gympie Terrace, Noosaville
Cost: Seafood Buffet—Adults $199, teens $149, kids under 12 years $85, or four-course lunch—Adults $199, teens $149, kids under 12 years $69 (both packages include drinks)
Book: 07 5440 5070

Spicers Tamarind

Mix things up a little this Chrissy, and swap your regular feast of ham and prawns, for a succulent four-course Asian banquet lunch at the incredible Tamarind Restaurant. Nestled in the rainforest at Maleny, you’ll feel like you’re on a secret little getaway as soon as you step onto this Spicers property. Want to make the Christmas magic last a little longer? Spicers Tamarind is offering special festive packages including two nights’ accommodation, a la carte breakfast daily and their Christmas Day lunch.

Where: 88 Obi Lane South, Maleny
Cost: $149 per person (lunch) or accommodation packages from $1496
Book: 1300 583 312
