Christmas Lunch Sunshine Coast

Catering for the clan on Christmas Day can really take the fun out of the festive season. Sweating away in the kitchen and frantically trying not to burn anything doesn’t really evoke thoughts of festive cheer. So why not hang up your novelty apron and leave it to the experts this year?

We’ve done the hard work for you and rounded up the best Christmas Day lunch spots for you, where you can eat, drink and be merry—stress-free! Sounds like a Christmas wish come true? You can thank us later.

Here are the best Sunshine Coast restaurants open on Christmas Day so you don’t have to cook.

Cafe Le Monde

NOOSA HEADS

So, you’ve got the whole family visiting and you’re looking for somewhere to dine that’s not too pricey in Noosa? Your best bet for a casual day out, one that’s still going to leave you a bit of cash to shout mum that cocktail she’s eyeing off, is Cafe Le Monde. These guys are offering a delicious three-course set menu (that features a local seafood platter, a macadamia honey smoked ham and coconut, mango and passionfruit smashed pavlova) with a glass of sparkling or Heads of Noosa lager, for a bargain $125 per person. Which is kind of unheard of, but very convenient, if you’re looking to book a spot for Christmas Day lunch on the Sunshine Coast. Got littlies? The two-course set menu for kids at $49 is a no-brainer.

Where: Cafe Le Monde, 52 Hastings Street, Noosa Heads

Cost: Adults $125, children $49

The Savvy Squire

MOOLOOLABA

One of the best bars in Mooloolaba, The Savvy Squire is dishing up the brews and chews this Christmas Day lunch on the Sunshine Coast. Graze on the share-style menu which features stars like seared beef sirloin, baked tasmanian salmon and petite roasted turkey breast. There are also plenty of vego options available, so all plant-based friends will be catered for. Finish strong (and sweet) with their famous festive grazing board.

Where: The Savvy Squire, 123 Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba

Cost: Adults $155, teenagers $99 (13-17 years), kids $59 (3-12 years)

Lily’s On The Lagoon

TWIN WATERS

One of our favourite spots to wine and dine in Mooloolaba is throwing open its doors this Christmas Day and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Lily’s On The Lagoon is really upping the ante this year and spoiling us with a five-course plated menu that showcases festive delights like lemon crusted tuna with mango and cilantro salad, beef tenderloin with oyster and macadamia crumble and baked hiramasa kingfish with miso greens. Make sure to save room for dessert, which will have you struggling to choose between chocolate and caramel cheesecake trifle, festive berry galette and chocolate peppermint tart. Drool. Did we mention that it’s adult only? No screaming children, guaranteed.

Where: Novotel,  270 Ocean Drive, Twin Waters

Cost: Adults $230

Flaxton Gardens

FLAXTON

Flaxton Gardens knows how popular they are (with good reason) and for that very reason they’re bringing the pre-Christmas cheer this year, with their pre-Christmas celebrations from Wednesday 15 December to Thursday 24 December. Christmas Eve dinner, anyone? Catering for a wide range of dietary requirements, including options for vegans, you’ll find your festive roast meats (turkey, beef and Tasmanian salmon) plus a delicious range of sides and tapas. Save room for their famous Flaxton Christmas pudding with brandy custard and ice cream. That’s Christmas tradition done right.

Where: Flaxton Gardens, 313-327 Flaxton Drive, Flaxton

Quench your thirst with their premium beverage package and enjoy the festive entertainment. Now that’s what we call Christmas done in style.
