Tarzali | Sleeps 6
The Canopy
Hidden amongst over 100 acres of lush tropical rainforest just 90 minutes from Cairns, The Canopy is an absolute must on your bucket list. The eco-retreat blends award winning luxury with sustainable living, so you can enjoy a green getaway that doesn’t hurt the local wildlife.
With room for up to six guests, the two-bedroom Canopy Treehouse is perfect for families or a small group of friends. You get a full kitchen, private spa bath and a lovely balcony with tree-top views, complete with a barbecue and hammock for chillaxing.
Bring those walking shoes, because guests get exclusive use of the hosts’ 100 acres of rainforest, complete with a network of walking trails.
Burringbar | Sleeps 4
Bluebird
Prepare the crew for something a little bit unique. Bluebird is a rustic cabin with treehouse vibes, set among the rainforest at Burringbar, just ten minutes from some of the Far North Coast’s best beaches. While you’re not exactly perched up high among the leaves here, you are right in the midst of all the greenery, with the Northern Rivers Rail Trail on your doorstep for exploring (with your doggo if you like because this pad is pet-friendly).
Take a soak in your own private clawfoot bath and take in the forest view through the huge window. Or you could pad outside to the shared spa and get it bubbling before sinking right on in with a glass of something tasty.
Back at base, your Airbnb is styled with handmade items and a mix of restored and modern materials so it’s got real quirk-factor. We love the private and airy deck where you can laze in the hammock with that book you’ve been meaning to read while the barbecue gets all toasty.
Hunchy | Sleeps 2
The Blak Shack
As a kid, our dream Queensland treehouse probably didn’t feature a bathtub, but as an adult, it’s a must, and The Blak Shack’s freestanding tub just begs to be filled with bubbles—and paired with a glass of wine.
That’s not all that makes this hillside cabin just minutes from Montville worth a spot on your must-stay list. A finalist in the Airbnb 2025 Host Awards, the peeps that own this place give you a gleaming kitchenette, a breezy front deck for enjoying the treetop views, a wood-fired stove, yoga mats, a queen bed with luxurious linen sheets, fluffy bathrobes, a kitchen garden, art supplies and board games. And that’s all before we’ve even mentioned the outdoor fire pit that you’ll have exclusive access to during your stay. Hooray!
Springbrook | Sleeps 4
Tiny Treehouse
Oh hey there you delightfully teeny treehouse home! Part of Gwongorella Retreat, 45 minutes out of the Gold Coast, this uber cute tiny stay is the closest property to the Purlingbrook waterfall. It’s made of wood and glass so expect to be totally immersed in nature, while enjoying a whole heap of home comforts at the same time.
Your Queensland accommodation among the trees is pint-sized but perfect, with a ladder leading to a queen bed on the mezzanine floor, fairy lights galore and a full kitchen, plus a living space with a wood burner for cosy nights by the fire. Did we mention the loft hammock for a spot of post-lunch snoozing, or the fire pit in the back yard for marshmallow-toasting?
Butchers Creek | Sleeps 4
Rainforest Treehouse
Fancy yourself a place where you can meander around over nine kilometres of walking trails and bushland just 90 minutes from Cairns? Here’s the deal. Spread over two storeys, Rainforest Treehouse offers complete seclusion alongside panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges.
Watch the sunrise to the sound of birdsong as you relax on the accommodation’s spacious balcony. We love how a stay at this Airbnb comes with a complimentary breakfast hamper for your first morning. Expect cereals, muesli, yoghurt, milk, four slices of bread and eggs.
Montville | Sleeps 2
Treetops Seaview
Perched on the edge of an escarpment, Treetops Seaview offers some pretty spectacular views of the surrounding hinterland and even the distant coast. You can enjoy them from the spacious deck, but we think the spa bath with floor to ceiling windows makes for a much better viewing experience.
A massive wood burning stove keeps things toasty warm on those cold hinterland nights, while the sleek decor will make you feel as if you’re in a five-star hotel rather than a mountaintop treehouse.
Currumbin Valley | Sleeps 6
Currumbin Rainforest Villa
First things first. We need to flag this is a vegetarian and plant-based retreat, so the hosts ask that you don’t bring animal products on site. If you’re all good with that, it’s a gorgeous spot, set among 19 acres of rainforest with bamboo, palm trees and mountain views.
Your Queensland treehouse sleeps six and has two bathrooms, including an outdoor shower and a jacuzzi which is pretty swish. If you’re not soaking away a few hours with a glass of something tasty, we expect we’ll find you in the resort’s on-site sauna—or in an egg-chair on your own private deck taking in that epic forest view.
Peregian Beach | Sleeps 6
Treetop Beach House
Want treehouse feels but within spitting distance of the beach and all the fun stuff in Noosa? This one-of-a-kind home high up on a hill offers beach access via a track, with no roads to cross. You’re a short stroll to the many eateries and boutiques of Peregian Village here, and yet you’ll feel like you’re right in nature thanks to the garden oasis of palms, papaya, banana, pineapple, lychee, lemon, fig and mulberry trees.
Pick fruit from them, depending on the season, or pad on up to your top deck and enjoy the epic views over the hinterland. There’s a four-person infrared sauna up there and two daybeds for the perfect pampering session. And if you want to amp up the luxe factor even more, head down to the second floor where you’ll find a private outdoor bath on the yoga deck for soaking in.
Main Arm | Sleeps 2
Secluded Magical Rainforest Retreat
Ok confession time, this treehouse stay isn’t actually in Queensland, but it is only just over the border, and frankly, too magical not to include. Cross over a fairy lit rustic bridge to find this secluded cabin overlooking a creek, which has its own private deck, massive kitchen and living space, fireplace and of course, comfy double bed.
There’s a swing outside over the creek where you can spend hours curled up with a good book, and a breakfast bar so you can enjoy your bacon and eggs out on that deck feeling at one with nature. But don’t worry, there’s Netflix and wifi too, because switching off is overrated.
