Love finding new music before all your mates? Well, you’ve come to the right place. If you’re seeking more Aussie artists to add to your playlist rotation, Urban List has found the best up-and-coming musicians based right here in Sydney/Eora.

From indie-pop and alt-rock to electronic and experimental, these homegrown artists are guaranteed to satisfy the crew when chucked on the aux.

These are 19 of Sydney’s best emerging musicians you should listen to right now.

PA777IENCE

Hypnotising is the best way to describe PA777IENCE’s discography. Their godly vocals and smooth background beats are literally music to our ears. The Gadigal-based singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist plays in the R&B/neo-soul realm and is one to check out if your Spotify Wrapped included Frank Ocean, Clairo or Silk Sonic—start off with the grow grow grow EP.

Bryson Hill

Moving between Sydney and London, spinmaster Bryson Hill is one to look out for on the electronic/dance scene. You may have caught him at Summer Dance, Lost Sundays or Shall Not Fade festival. Or, if his tracks sound familiar, Peggy Gou has played them in her sets on multiple occasions.

Chloe Parché

Foot-tapping and head-nodding are involuntary responses to Chloe Parché’s pop-forward music. From her 2023 hit Upside Down to her latest release Changing Shapes, you won’t be able to help it but get up and boogie.

Tilli Kay

Listening to Tilli Kay’s indie rock tracks gives us flashbacks to summer road trips. The talented Northern Beaches-based singer-songwriter launched her debut single, Crossroads, in May 2025, followed by Clothes in October 2025, both featuring melodic guitar riffs and catchy-as lyrics that give major Kings of Leon vibes.

Agum

Agum is one of those artists with a magically timeless voice. Her soulful portfolio explores self-discovery, growth and healing, inspired by a past relationship and her move to Australia from Uganda. Currently, there are six singles to discover—each unique but part of a beautiful whole.

Sleepazoid

Grungy post-punk quintet sleepazoid has some smashing alt-rock hits you’ll want to get around if you’re into heavy guitar riffs and punchy drum solos. Let’s just say members Nette France, Josef Pabis, Luca Soprano, George Inglis, and Jim Duong sure know what they’re doing on the tools.

KCH

We could listen to KCH, aka Kyle Charles Hall, all day. This Sydney-based ledge writes and produces all his own songs at home—very Billie Eilish-esque, we must say. Chuck on since I died my hair blonde for main character energy or GOOD GOD! with Loretta to feel all the feels.

The Slims

Blending Indie Americana and psychedelic rock sounds, The Slims is an up-and-coming Sydney-based band made up of Jake Jameison, Max Jones and Jackson Stocks. Their Neon Cowboy EP features plenty of reverby guitar, sexy riffs and red-lit film noir artwork, *chefs kiss*.

CLEWS

Indie-pop duo, CLEWS, writes cinematic, heart-pounding songs that feel like the turning point of a movie. Consisting of two sisters, Lily and Grace, the duo pours their all into the music—and you can hear it. As they say, What’s Not To Love?

Akala Newman

Wiradjuri/Gadigal-based, First Nations musician Akala Newman is a multi-talented songwriter, performer, educator and cultural producer. Her music blends bold storytelling with electronic-indie beats that sound super similar to Tove Lo—listen to A(VOID), and you’ll see what we mean.

Becca Hatch

Mixing dance, electronic and R&B, Becca Hatch is a Kamilaroi/Samoan artist who reminds us of Jorja Smith and PinkPantheress—not only do they sound similar, but they also exploded to fame. Start listening to her now before you’re the last one to catch on. Blessed is her most popular hit, or her Triple J Like A Version cover of John Farnham’s Burn For You is also a good starting point.

Chris Lanzon

Like a slow-burning belter? Check out Chris Lanzon. His latest album, You’re Missing The Best Part, is filled with cathartic car-worthy sing-a-longs, from piano ballads to strummed smashes. Then, you have four more EPs to catch up on.

KATIA

KATIA’s music is outta this world—like entering a new planet where there’s no such thing as ‘too much.’ If you love Kylie Minogue, Addison Rae or Confidence Man, her upbeat pop tunes are perfectly tailored to your ears.

DEVAURA

Aotearoa-born and Eora-based singer-rapper DEVAURA has been likened to Doechii and Lizzo—evidently, hip-hop and dance are her thing. Recently playing at Strawberry Fields and being crowned Triple J Unearthed Laneway Competition Winner 2025, she is one to watch for sure.

Nick Ward

Jam out to Nick Ward’s catalogue of feel-goods and tipsy-turny tracks. Ranging from upbeat BBQ bangers like Shooting Star to deeper symphonies like I Wanna Be A Mother, there’s a track for everyone and every mood.

Jerome Blazé

Experimental artist Jerome Blazé has the gift of composition. His genre-bending music often features surprising dings, rattles, jingles, jangles and other interesting recorded tidbits. Made entirely in his living room, his latest album, Living Room, aims to “capture Sydney musically,” exploring his move from the country to the city.

Ella Haber

Funky, groovy and all-around cool, Ella Haber’s smooth sounds and strong vocals have been compared to Amy Winehouse—we see it. Her 2024 track Walk On is a good place to start if you’re new to her sweet tunes.

Yasmina Sadiki

Blurring the lines between jazz, hip-hop and experimental music, Yasmina Sadiki doesn’t limit herself to one genre. When performing live, she loves improv and free-styling with her band, alternating between a plethora of instruments. Let her wispy lyrics whisk you away.

Salarymen

Sydney-based duo Salarymen is one half, Renee de la Motte (on vocals and bass), and the other half, Thom Eagleton (on vocals and guitar). Since performing at SXSW and embarking on an Aus-wide tour with Royel Otis, the pair are making waves in the Sydney music scene.
