Capture The Moment With Fujifilm’s Photography Day Club

Fancy ditching your phone and doing something a little bit artistic for a couple of hours? You’re in luck, thanks to the launch of The Moment Club, a first-of-its-kind photography day club experience in Sydney that will have you transported back to the 1980s and '90s quicker than you can say Nirvana.

Launched by Fujifilm in celebration of the release of the brand-new Fujifilm X half-frame camera, a retro-inspired, half-frame camera that mimics the point-and-shoot cameras of the analogue age. The Moment Club is a photogenic playground designed to help you stop aimlessly scrolling and reconnect in real life.

The Moment Club is a one-day event that'll be held at the Baptist Street Rec Club in Redfern, Sydney, on Saturday, 12 July. The day club will encourage guests to unplug with the help of DJ, adventurer, and digital creator Alex Hayes, who will bring his signature mix of uplifting beats to set the vibe.

Guests will be asked to leave their phones at the door and instead capture some memories on the new Fujifilm X half camera with its retro design, two-in-one shooting mode and manual advance lever.

In basic terms, this digital camera allows you to experience the pure, unadulterated joy of taking a heap of photos and then seeing them “developed” in one batch, just like it used to happen in the '80s and '90s when film photography was the norm.

During the event, guests can take part in workshops to perfect their photography skills. These include The Ultimate Bathroom Mirror Selfie Workshop, which will help you nail the perfect mirror selfie with pro tips about lighting, angles and framing. There's also the Art of the Cocktail Pic workshop, which will teach you how to capture your drink in all its glory, along with the Parallel Moments Workshop, where you learn how to turn everyday moments into stories with vertical split-screen shooting.

The Moment Club presented by Fujifilm takes place on Saturday, 12 July 2025, from 2pm to 4pm at the Baptist Street Rec Club, Redfern.

Limited tickets are available; they're priced at $25, which includes a throwback cocktail and Southeast Asian-inspired bites. There will be a waitlist for those who miss out on tickets.
