The Plant-Based Dessert Game Just Changed With This Frozen Mochi Range

Plant-based desserts are few and far between, sure there may be a local cafe or restaurant dishing up a couple belters but when you’re looking for something solid on the go or in a pinch it's like finding a needle in a haystack.

That’s where Buono Mochi comes into play; the cult vegan dessert has become an absolute mainstay for plant-based sugar enthusiasts. Free from gluten, dairy, as well as artificial colours and flavours these little balls of joy are made up of creamy coconut milk which is then frozen and encased in a delicate Mochi shell.

If you’ve never eaten Mochi before, you’re missing out, the traditional Japanese dessert is a rice-based cake, with a similar texture, crunch and chewiness to a macaroon. Buono has developed their own range of Mochi-inspired vegan desserts which come in a slew of different flavours and textures; you can even choose your own adventure with the assorted box. Grab a few vanilla and black sesame, chocolate, and green tea varieties and taste your way through the entire collection.

Just in time for the peak heat of summer Buono has just released an ice lychee sorbet mochi, a little pocket of tropical paradise that’ll help you cool your jets when the temp is pushing thirty plus.

You can find a range of the Buono Mochi desserts at select Woolworths and Coles across the state.
