Fill Your Cup With This Epic Wellness Book Everyone Is Talking About

By

When it comes to self-help books, not all are created equal. Some are light and fluffy but offer little solid, tangible advice, and others remind you of a textbook you had to slug your way through at uni.

Fortunately we’ve found a newbie that needs to shoot straight to the top of your must-read list.

Enter: Darkness Is Golden by Mary Hoang, who is also head psychologist and founder of The Indigo Project so you know she’s legit.

Hitting the shelves just this week, Hoang guides you on a journey to face your fears and create the life you want—and after the rollercoaster that was 2020, we reckon we could all use a little extra help in this area.

According to Hoang, life is messy: no matter how much we try to control our lives, unpredictable and difficult things happen to us all (preach!).

In this powerful new read, Hoang reveals the hidden gold that lies in your darkness, showing how exploring your shadows can give you a new sense of direction for the future. Tackling anxiety and self-doubt in a cathartic way, Hoang digs up the golden nuggets she has discovered over a decade in the therapy room, and combines them with unique audio experiences framed by her research in music psychology.

Darkness Is Golden was partly inspired by Hoang’s own life. Since 2009, she has been pioneering a creative approach to psychology and emerged as a leader in the humanisation and transformation of the mental health industry. But after her father's death in 2017, Hoang turned to art and writing to explore the darker aspects of life’s anxieties, fears, insecurities, loss, emotional pain and 'baggage' and how these hold the keys to insight, meaning and purpose. The moving artworks she produced, utilising sound, psychology and installation, informed groundbreaking research by the University of Melbourne.

Consider this book your personal, creative psychologist, teaching you how to build healthier relationships, make space for possibilities and find your wisdom.

According to Hoang, it’s time to dance with your darkness—we vibe that!
