If you’ve been hanging for a new series to binge your way through—one that will really make you think (and scream)—then we’ve got excellent news for you.

Clear your viewing schedule for Friday 9 April, because the new terror anthology series, Them, will be dropping on your screens and trust us when we say you’re going to want to devour it in a single sitting.

The 10-episode series comes to us from breakout creator Little Marvin and executive producer, the incredible Leah Waithe (Queen & Slim, Master Of None).

The limited anthology series explores the real terror in America—read: systemic racism. The first season, entitled Covenant, is set in the 1950s and centers on Henry (Ashley Thomas) and Lucky Emory (Deborah Ayorinde) who decide to move their black family from North Carolina to an all-white Los Angeles neighborhood during the period known as The Great Migration. While at first everything seems postcard perfect—think tree-lined streets and matching pastel-hued houses—the family’s idyllic home soon becomes ground zero where malevolent forces, next-door and otherworldly, threaten to taunt, ravage and destroy them.

Think of it as Nicole Kidman’s Stepford Wives meets Jordan Peele’s Us—yep, it’s truly terrifying.

Not convinced? Scope out the creepy trailer below:

Along with Ayorinde and Thomas, the series also stars Alison Pill (Devs, Vice), Shahadi Wright Joseph (US, The Lion King), Melody Hurd and Australia’s Ryan Kwanten (Trueblood).

Them drops Friday 9 April on Amazon Prime.

In the meantime, work your way through the best shows on Netflix AU and NZ, Stan and Amazon
