The bane of every ‘organiser’ friend in the group’s existence, is without a doubt the ol’ accom. Between finding something everyone can afford, that is available the time you need to go, to it having the creature comforts we all need (um, AC is mandatory) to the place being actually nice and everyone getting a bed—it's a bloody nightmare. Enter: the maxi taxi of accommodations, a gigantic Airbnb.
No need to book multiple rooms, because these incredible residences can fit the whole gang and then some. We’ve rounded up a few of the best Airbnbs perfect for big groups near Brisbane—so all that’s left to do is work out the maths (they’re cheap if you divide the price by eight) and find a date that everyone is free—hopefully sometime before 2027.
Sunrise Beach | Sleeps 14 Beachfront Hideaway
If your usual group getaway doesn’t involve a 25m pool with its own waterslide, panoramic ocean views, a Peloton bike and hot pink Buckingham Palace guard statue (ok that last one is rogue), you’re not doing it right. That’s what you’ll find at Beachfront Hideaway, and ultra luxurious six bedroom home in a private gated community in Sunrise Beach on the Sunny Coast. Absolute waterfront, it boasts uninterrupted ocean views, a heated swimming pool with plenty of pool toys, a sauna, and so much more.

There’s room for 14 across the two levels, and kids are well-catered for with bunk beds, a grassy outdoor area, separate media room and of course, that next level side.
Wallace’s Creek | Sleeps 8 Boonabaroo
Boonabaroo is Wallace’s Creek’s opulent answer to a country escape if we’ve ever seen it. There is also a large central bathroom with a claw foot bath, double sink and rain head shower along with a separate powder room and second toilet. You can charm eight guests at this picturesque retreat which is only an ultra-convenient seven-minute drive to Boonah and only three minutes to Kooroomba Vineyard & Lavender Farm. Palm Beach | Sleeps 10 The Palm House
Controversial statement but Palm Beach is seriously underrated. While it may be true this writer gives it extra credit because of the dog beach there, its holiday essence cannot be ignored. It’s only an hour from Brisbane and yet this sleepy beach town fully transports you to a land of relaxation. Topping things off with a stay at The Palm House is really the only proper next step. Ten of your nearest and dearest can park up, swim and slow down here, in a house owned by Dylan and Jenny from the 2022 season of The Block. The beach is only a hop skip and a jump away, as are many famous eateries like our fave, Paddock Bakery. If you prefer a quieter day, simply sunbathe by the pool or explore the picturesque local area, with Laguna Park and a tranquil lake only steps away.
