You can find these guys at a few locations, like their speedy coffee van on old Gympie Road which, at the joy of every shift worker on earth, is open from 4.30 am. The most enticing reason to hit their main Narangba cafe though, is the banger specials they dish up every weekend. Now we all love the Italian restaurant powerhouses dishing up our coveted carb fix, but if you’ve ever been to Italy you will know one thing for sure—the Italians are throwing down in the cafe game. The same can be said for Italian cafe in Burpengary, Basil & Vine. They’ve got all the classics we know and love like artisanal pizzas and pastas, on top of cafe standouts like an insane brekky gnocchi, Mars Bar pancakes that borderline could be illegal and perfect pear and pecan oats. It goes without saying that the coffee is off the chain too.

Project Salubrious

143 Rowley Road, Burpengary

At Project Salubrious, gluten-free eats are not an obligatory afterthought, but instead the star of the show. By default, their entire menu (except the coffee, pending your choice of milk) is free from gluten, dairy, soy and refined sugar. Let it be known though, this does not limit your dining options, or the flavours coming out of the kitchen. Eats here are as refined as the cafe setup, like the sweet potato waffles with mocha sauce, grilled pineapple, rosella jam and white chocolate cream or our fave for something a little more on the brunch side, chicken and leek potted pie with caramelised pumpkin and pea crush.
