When you’ve got a hankering for something delicious, fresh and filling, a fantastic taco will always hit the spot. Lucky for us, Brisbane has a slew of great restaurants serving us up amazing tacos to quell or Mexican cravings. To help you find your next taco meal, we’ve brought together some of Brisbane’s best tacos. Get out there and get feasting, muchachos!

California Native

Coorparoo

The guys at California Native are supplying crunchy, delicious tacos to happy Brisbanites from their cool location in Coorparoo. Try their Dos Gamba Tacos of juicy prawns dusted in house seasoning then fried and served with queso fresca, chipotle mayo, black beans and slaw on gorgeous soft fried corn tortillas. They also do a fish version with a pineapple salsa, neither one will disappoint.

Juan More Taco

Roving taco food truck Juan More Taco live up to their name by serving up really tasty tacos all across Brisbane. They serve traditional Mexican tacos using warm soft corn tortillas heaped with delicious fillings like Yucatan style chicken thighs marinated with achiote paste and cooked in banana leaf to keep it juicy and tender then topped with pickled pink onions. The tortillas used are gluten-free and the team have vegetarian options are available too. 

Los Villanos

Petrie Terrace 

Bright and quirky Mexican restaurant Los Villanos is dishing up some mighty fine tacos on Petrie Terrace. Try the ‘Super Maquinia’ of charred brisket, grilled onion and salsa roja, the ‘Salchichero’ of chorizo, grilled onion and coriander, or the ‘Rey Pescado’ of kingfish, spiced cabbage and pico de gallo. Vegetarians are spoiled for choice with three yummy veggie and bean combos to choose from. They also do a mean Margarita! 

La Quinta

Bulimba favourite, La Quinta, have your taco needs covered with their Mexican Street Food menu. Their tacos come on soft corn tortillas with sour cream, guacamole and your choice of hickory smoked chicken, shredded beef, pork carnitas, fish and all manner of delightful toppings like chipotle mayo, pic de gallo and more.

Fiesta Ole

Step inside Fiesta Ole in Alderley and indulge your taco-loving senses. Their menu includes traditional tacos, with your choice of pork, beef, chicken, refried beans or Chorizo topped with beans and salads or their marinated pork taco. The pork is marinated in dried chillies,s pieces and pineapples then slow cooked on a rotisserie and served with on their hand-made tortillas with all your favourite toppings.

Puerto Taco

Sustainable food truck, Puerto Taco, is a fusion of Asian and Mexican and it’s brining all the taco deliciousness to Brisbane and beyond. They specialise in delectable slow cooked meat piled high and topped with homemade salsa. Their slow-cooked taqueria beef taco is not to be missed, eight-hour slow cooked and bursting with juicy flavour goodness, topped with chipotle mayo. Don’t let the name fool you, cos Chur Burger also serve up amazing tacos! Vegetarians will love their mushroom taco, with sweet potato, pickled red onion, feta and candied pumpkin seeds. For big beat eaters, try their delightful crispy pork taco with cucumber kimchi, black vinegar caramel and puffed wild rice or their Jerk chicken with blackened corn salsa, chilli and herbed aioli.
