Best enjoyed in the morning alongside a well-made coffee and savoured, quite unapologetically, by hand, it’s a treat that feels equal parts nostalgic and indulgent. And while the classic will always hold its place, a new wave of flavour riffs—pistachio, Biscoff, blueberry lemon curd and beyond—offers a more playful, decidedly modern take on the original.

At Doughed, you’ll find some of the best coffee, matcha, cookies and sandwiches around—but did you know they also serve some of the Gold Coast’s best cinnamon scrolls? These beauties are soft, sweet and generously topped with a truly drool-worthy cream cheese frosting—the stuff of dreams.
Flavours range from original to pistachio and beyond, so take it from me—bring an appetite, because you’ll want to try them all. They’re currently only available on weekends, so clear your calendar and make your way there, stat.

They’ve been making scrolls at Cinnamon Bun Cafe for a long, long time—so it’s safe to say they’ve perfected the art. These scrolls are beautifully soft, packed with nostalgia and finished with a delicious drizzle of icing.
My favourite way to enjoy them is early in the morning, fresh out of the oven, paired with a chai latte—trust me, they go hand-in-hand. Grab a seat out front, listen to the birdsong and soak up one of the Gold Coast’s sweetest experiences.

The warm, gooey, golden scrolls coming out of Janus Deli are, quite simply, heavenly. It seems everything they touch turns to gold, and these cream cheese-smothered numbers are no exception.
“But, Harmony, how will I save room for one of the Gold Coast’s best toasties and one of the best scrolls?” I hear you. And to that I say: where there’s a will, there’s a way. With Biscoff, apple crumble, maple bacon and the irresistible original on the menu, I’m confident you’ll find that way.

The homemade scrolls at Velvet Cafe & Lounge are just as gorgeous to look at as they are to eat. Gooey, creamy and perfectly decadent, they’re definitely some of the Gold Coast’s best, and absolutely worth the sugar high.
They also offer a pistachio version that I personally can’t get enough of. Your best bet? Go with friends, order a few different flavours and share—because choosing just one is near impossible. Add a table in the morning sun and you’ve got the ultimate start to your day.

Burleigh Baker has taken the humble cinnamon scroll and made it their own—and, as always, the result is sublime. Where other scrolls lean ultra-soft, these strike the perfect balance with a moreish crunch, soft innards and a flawless cream cheese topping.
Add to that their organic, fermented dough (gentle on the gut), and you’ve got an absolute winner. The only real challenge is choosing between savoury and sweet—the vegemite and cheese scroll is pretty much irresistible.

I’m sure Public Supply making this list is a surprise to absolutely no one—but if it is, prepare to have your mind (and tastebuds) blown. I went in thinking, “The scrolls look tasty and all, but what’s the big deal?” Oh, how naive I was.
These are the kind of scrolls that have you hooked after a single bite. The cheesy cream cheese icing paired with the soft, doughy base is nothing short of spectacular. They offer plenty of delicious concoctions, available Thursday through Sunday until sold out, but I always find myself returning to the sweet, creamy safety of the OG.

The deliciously balanced cinnamon scrolls from Scrollie Hour really speak for themselves. Think layers of butter, sugar and cinnamon wrapped in perfectly doughy pastry, topped with a salty-sweet cream cheese frosting that will make your heart sing.
You can order for pickup in Bundall, baked fresh that very morning—just be warned, it’s near impossible to make it home without devouring one (or, in my case, an entire box). Otherwise, you’ll find them at Helensvale Farmers Market, Robina Farmers Markets, Mudgeeraba Village Market and more—keep an eye on their Instagram for updates.

If you’ve had a cinnamon scroll from Cinnamon & Co. before, you’ve probably had the same thought as me: how will I survive when it’s not a market day? Fear not—they’re now also available at Nectar Espresso, so you can get your fix more often.
Otherwise, you’ll find them at the HOTA Farmers Market or Robina Farmers Market on alternating Sundays, where there’s an even bigger range of flavours, including monthly specials like blueberry and lemon curd. My go-to is a double whammy of sweet and savoury—the classic cinnamon scroll paired with the cheesymite, because it’s just too hard to choose.
