Perched atop the hill overlooking Alba Thermal Springs and Spa is the newest addition to their already stunning offering: The Sanctuary.

These ethereal, boutique villas are true to their name—they’re sanctuaries, with true warmth and care that envelops you as soon as you enter.

The minimalist interiors with clean lines, natural wheat tones, bespeckled tiling and a perfect blend of Italian, Palm Springs and modern Australian design sing a chorus amid the bushy landscape of the Mornington Peninsula.

While you're on the Peninsula, farm-to-table fine diner Barragunda Dining is an absolute must.

The five villas, dotted around the top of that hill, are accompanied by two studio rooms, each their very own intimate retreat with different offerings, whether that be outlook or design.  When you arrive, check in at the springs reception and make your way to the top of the hill where you can take advantage of your blissful surroundings. The in-room amenities, including a bath if you’ve opted for one, are the star of the show, not to mention views out to the horizon, a fireplace, Aesop products and a curated mini-bar.

The Ten Minutes by Tractor wines are a deft touch, bringing you closer to the terroir of the Peninsula, while the signature Alba blend tea grounds you and sets the tone for your visit to the springs.

Dining at Thyme and private bathing are included with your stay, which reception is happy to organise, as well as your transfers to and fro the springs. The seamless process allows you to unwind, unplug; there are phones in the springs—and we say ditch them while you’re in the room too, there’s too much to enjoy and feel at one with nature.

The springs themselves opened in 2022 and are fed from geothermal springs beneath Port Phillip Bay, piped in at an invigourating 43.6°C before being distributed to 31 pools across the site, offering a variety of scents, outlooks and bathing experiences.

“An on-site accommodation offering has been part of the development plan for Alba Thermal Springs and Spa from the very beginning,” Alba’s General Manager, Craig Dodd says.

“With the success of our bathing, spa, and dining experiences, we are thrilled to welcome guests overnight and for weekend stays, especially from interstate and overseas visitors, many who wish to explore the region for a number of days.”

While there’s no shortage of premium accommodation on the Peninsula (more of which you can find here), The Sanctuary is something truly distinct and perfect for special occasions.

Find out just how distinct for yourself, bookings for the villas are now open. Midweek room rates for a one-night stay in the two studio rooms start from $850 per room, and villas without a bath from $1250 per night and villas with a bath $1400. Find Alba Thermal Springs and Spa and The Sanctuary at 282 Browns Road, Fingal, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria.
