Inspired by recent travels through Singapore and Malaysia, Lucas plans on bringing the vibrant sights, smells and, most importantly, tastes of South East Asia's hawker markets to Chapel Street courtesy of Hawker Hall. Similar to Chin Chin, the new Chapel Street restaurant won't be taking bookings (apart from one large group table) meaning a line will be inevitable; however if the other restaurants are anything to go by, Hawker Hall will be totally worth the wait!

Another restaurant from culinary genius Guy Grossi, Merchant Osteria Veneta is a Melbourne Italian restaurant with a focus on Venetian cuisine and tradition. Merchant is unlike other places you've tried; rather than dishing up same-old pizzas and pastas to the crowds, the team at Merchant offer rich, flavoursome, traditional dishes—think Venetian pork sausages and gnocchi with gorgonzola and walnuts—in a space that's as relaxed and informal as it is cosy and intimate. Rosa’s Canteen on Bourke Street in Melbourne CBD is brought to you by the Italian cuisine guru behind Rosa’s Kitchen, Rosa Mitchell. One of Melbourne's best Italian restaurants, Rosa’s Kitchen specialises in Sicilian style cooking, whereas Rosa’s Canteen celebrates all things Northern Italian. Brunswick Street Alimentari in Fitzroy has been serving Mediterranean food to the much-appreciative locals for more than 15 years. One of Melbourne's best delis slash cafes, pop down for a great coffee, a hearty lunch and maybe a sneaky Doughboys Doughnut, too.

Located at the Paris end of Little Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD, Burma Lane is a Melbourne restaurant that produces ‘fresh, vibrant and deliciously different’ modern Australian Burmese cuisine. The lively menu boasts some of the best South East Asian’s flavours in Melbourne. Sink your teeth into delicious small bites of Burmese soft shell crab and oodles of noodles tossed with barbeque pork.

Getting down to Lygon Street isn’t just for Italian anymore! The Section 8 and Ferydurke crew are bringing Burgers and Bands till late 7 nights a week at The B.East We’re talking some of Melbourne’s best traditional American Style Burgers (Beef, Chicken and Vegetarian) and a Cherry Smash (Smashed maraschino cherries, coconut flakes, chocolate syrup and whipped cream) to wash it all down.

Listers, we’d forgive you for thinking that St Kilda restaurant Rococo served some of the best Italian food in Melbourne and left it at that. But, in our breakfast-mad city, Rococo sets the benchmark for some of the best brunch in Melbourne, right in the heart of the cosmopolitan St Kilda strip, Acland Street.

Just down from Toorak Road in Glen Iris, Golden Child is a cute little cafe nestled away on Bardolph Street. This popular coffee spot grows its own veggies on site, and serves a contemporary breakfast and lunch menu. We’re in love with the French Toast Crumpets, served with maple bacon, caramelised banana purée, blueberries and vanilla buttercream.

Quick—it’s a beautiful summer’s day and you’re searching for brunch in South Yarra. Where do you go?

Chapel Street in South Yarra plays host to charming cafe, Lucky Penny. The bright, light filled space is accented with elegant wood benches and stools, and we love the variety of the menu. From fresh and healthy items such as the Zucchini, Quinoa and Kale salad with toasted seeds and almonds, carrot puree and a poached egg, to the tasty and rich Caramelised Beef Short Rib with charred broccoli and roast potatoes. The perfect place for groups with varying tastes (but all good taste!).

The latest venture from the dumpling geniuses behind HuTong, Lost Heaven is a new Melbourne dumpling restaurant that serves up Sichuan style cooking, seven days a week. The food is, as expected, top notch traditional fare, and the space itself is ideal for group dumpling feasts. There are some cracking hot pots on the menu too—order the pork belly and you won't be disappointed!

From the Red Spice Road folks, Meat Fish Wine is a fine dining restaurant in Melbourne that offers lunch and dinner menus with a focus on fish, seafood, perfectly cooked meat and over 500 hand-selected wines. The interior is beautifully fitted out, making it a great spot for a CBD date or celebratory group outing, and the staff can always recommend the perfct glass to accompany your meal. We would recommend the local roast Wagyu with a glass of something rich and red—delicious!

Longhorn Saloon on Elgin Street in Carlton is the upstairs steak house and saloon bar side of 5 Points Deli, a New York style affair. Also serving as an oyster bar and rock’n’roll joint, this foodie destination is brought to you by the team being Le Bon Ton and Chingón, so you’re in safe hands. Did we mention they do dessert too? We’re salivating over the Pumpkin Ice Cream Sandwich with toasted marshmallow and chocolate sauce.

Mörk Chocolate Brew House has landed on Errol Street in North Melbourne, and it’s serving up some mighty fine artisan hot and cold chocolate bevvies. The concept store is part cafe, part warehouse where the chocolate is roasted, refined and crafted to create a bean-to-cup extravaganza! Don’t expect a coffee here though, it’s all about bowing down to everything chocolate (aka, everything awesome).

Located on Ferguson Street in Abbotsford, Jinda Thai is one of Melbourne's best Thai restaurants! The restaurant is a local love of ours; the food is delicious, the service is friendly, the interiors super chic, and we always leave totally satisfied. From savoury to sweet, the menu at Jinda Thai is always fresh and flavoursome, using only the best ingredients to create the stellar dishes. Whatever you do, make sure you finish your meal with a serve of coconut layer cake—it's one of the best desserts in Melbourne!

At iconic Fitzroy bakery, Rustica Sourdough, it’s all in the details. Surrey Hills bakery Zimt is a favourite of ours here at TUL—the French and German influenced bakery has some of the best cakes and pastries in Melbourne! With all food and produce made fresh on site, Zimt is also the perfect spot to stop by for breakfast or a light lunch. A Melbourne bakery must-try!

Serving up some snazzy pizzas on Barkly Street in West Footscray is Ovest, the perfect place to get together with friends and enjoy simple but delicious food. 5 Points Deli is a New York style deli set up on Elgin Street in Carlton. Claiming to create some of Melbourne's best sandwiches, soups and salads, it’s brought to you by the team behind Chingón and Le Bon Ton. Grab your snazzy lunch here, but if you’re after something meatier (pun intended) for dinner, hit up the steak house upstairs that’s run by the same crew, Longhorn Saloon.

A healthy food delivery service with a difference, Youfoodz is going to shake up your eating habits! A completely fresh menu (Youfoodz is never, ever frozen―it's made fresh each week and delivered to your door by the Youfoodz delivery team), we're big fans of their tasty, trendy meals―think Jamaican jerk chicken, ribs, chicken parmys, and lasagne...yes, we swear it's good for you! Collingwood homewares and design store, Kif & Katast, sells beautiful architectural screens, fabric, stationery, homewares, gifts, children's toys and more. It's a one-stop shop for all of your interior needs—perfect for unique gifts in Melbourne, and a must-visit for the design-savvy. 

Situated on the north bank of the Yarra, Arbory Bar and Eatery serves up a killer selection of breakfast, lunch and bar snacks alongside local wines and craft beers.
