Located on Melrose Street in North Melbourne, Pocket Cafe is responsible for some of the best cheap eats in Melbourne! The food here is delicious AND will leave you with change from a $10 note—think super filling and nutritious salads, soups, sandwiches, muffins and more. You'll need something to wash it down, of course, and for that we recommend the Allpress iced coffee...trust us, this North Melbourne cafe provides the ultimate caffeine hit!

Looking for the best coffee in Melbourne? The St Kilda Dispensary, located on Brighton Road, is surely up there. Everyone's welcome at North Carlton Canteen, or NCC for short, with dishes catering to the carnivores, the vegans, the gluten-free fiends and more. Our fave dish? The baked eggs really can't be beat. One bite and you'll see why!

Fitzroy florist Tribal Rose creates some of the most stunning bunches of blooms we've ever laid eyes on! Easey Street Smoke Out serves up some of the best American BBQ in Melbourne in a warehouse venue in the city's coolest suburb. Spearheaded by Ironbark artisan smokers (who are in the same building), the food is top rate (we're talking tender, juicy smoked meats that you'll be dreaming about for days) as well as a rotating drinks menu that means there's always something new to sip on. And if you need your motorbike tuned up while you're there (?!), motorcycle workshop Kustom Kommune is on-site too. Easey Street Smoke Out, we like your style.

5Five Bakehouse Kitchen is a cracking cafe in Oakleigh that serves freshly baked breads, tasty sandwiches, wraps, salads and dinner dishes. Their baked treats are legendary (the perfect breakfast pick-me-up) and the 5Five Bakehouse Kitchen staff work around the clock to serve up delicious meals from dawn 'til dusk. There's a great outdoor seating area too—perfect for lunch in the sun!

Kensington Korean restaurant Frying Colours knows how to cook up a storm! One of the best Korean restaurants in Melbourne for delicious kimchi dumplings, traditional Korean fried chicken, savoury pancakes and spicy pulled pork, its corner venue is the perfect spot for several courses of Korean share plates—go at your most hungry, Listers!

Collingwood restaurant Bistro K specialises in some of the best Korean food in Melbourne—delicious, freshly prepared ingredients, rich flavours and, of course, a top notch bibimbap! Bistro K also has a fantastic Korean BBQ menu, and hosts corporate functions and parties for up to 50 people, making it the ideal spot for drinks and nibbles if you're entertaining a crowd. Yum!

The Milton is a brand spankin' new wine bar in Elwood with an impressive list of local and international wines, along with a delicious tapas menu. The space is the perfect mix of cosy and cool, with ambient lighting, timber cladding and an open fire that screams 'PERFECT DATE NIGHT VENUE!'. In all seriousness though, order a bottle, shotgun a space near the fire or on one of the bench seats and get set for a night out at one of the best wine bars in Melbourne!

North East Precinct brings New York style food and delicious coffee to East Bentleigh. Run by Naked Espresso, who make some of the best coffee in Melbourne, this new Melbourne cafe in East Bentleigh has a real focus on our caffeinated drink of choice—North East Precinct is a home for speciality coffee fans in the south eastern suburbs.

Famish’d is your CBD stop for a nutrient filled brekkie or lunch. Famish'd on Collins Street is the perfect spot for a healthy lunch in Melbourne CBD—stop by for a salad, smashed avo or spud! Plus, St Ali coffee—can they do no wrong?

If you’re after a feel good feed, don’t go past Lentil as Anything on Heliers Street in Abbotsford. Part of the Abbotsford Convent complex, this leave-your-pretentions-at-the-door set up speaks to the heartstrings. The vegetarian and vegan fare is mighty decent, and the kitchen is run by staff and volunteers after a free feed. You pay what you can, and what you think it’s worth. What a great cause!

Melbourne's fourth Huxtaburger instalment is bound to be a hit! Down the road from Yo-Chi and Fonda, Huxtaburger is heating things up, bringing some of Melbourne’s best burgers to this Hawthorn location. Yes, even Clair, the spicy Southern belle we’re practically always craving. Think Southern fried chicken with slaw and jalapeño mayo. Yep, and now you’re craving it, too!

Located on Leeds Street in Footscray is a very different Melbourne cafe. Rudimentary is housed in some refurbished shipping containers, and the result couldn’t be more beautiful. With an on site herb and veggie garden, you can’t go past the decadent Buttermilk Waffles with maple, pancetta and fig.

The Kilburn on Burwood Road in Hawthorn is adding class to your glass. Settle in for some sipping with this snazzy whisky and cocktail bar. With an entire room for whisky tasting, and craft beer on tap, this is one of our new favourite Melbourne bars.

Pizza is a fast favourite with Melbourne crowds, but with Lievita on High Street in Northcote, the pizza experience is a cut apart! Lievita uses a traditional method with a 72-hour dough rising time, making some of the tastiest pizzas in Melbourne. The northside Italian is also expanding into sweet treats too, so expect Italian doughnuts, cannoli and biscotti, as well as pizzette (mini pizzas), piadina, and panini—the perfect pit-stop for Italian breads, pizzas and baked goods. 

If you’re looking for an after-work bevvy with a group of mates, Public House is one of the best bars in Richmond for grabbing a drink, ordering some delicious bar food and letting the good times roll.

Centrally located on Swan Street in Richmond, Holliava is one of Melbourne's best bars and always promises a good time! Whether you're looking for a cosy bar to catch up with friends pre-sporting match, or a great function venue in Melbourne to host your next party, Holliava can't be beat. They've got a brilliant drinks list, tasty food menu and friendly service...pretty much everying you're looking for in one of Melbourne's best bars.

Housed in a beautiful Victorian heritage-style building in Hawthorn, the Geebung Polo Club is one of Melbourne's best pubs. With a full restaurant and bar offering, plus a vibrant function space, the Geebung is destined to be your new fave local.

Take a trip down the quieter end of Greville Street in Prahran and you'll find College Lawn Hotel, one of the best pubs in Melbourne. The local fave has it all—a lounge bar, public bar, function room, bottle-shop, two courtyards and an awesome restaurant. College Lawn Hotel has a variety of meal specials throughout the week however their Tuesday steak night is by far our fave...juicy steaks from just $13!

Brunswick Backyard in East Brunswick is the latest venture from the team behind awesome Fitzroy restaurant Hammer & Tong. Brunswick Backyard plays host to the Hammer & Tong food truck every weekend in a permanent outdoor dining space that comes complete with a delicious new menu. Order the croque champignon—essentially a posh toasted sandwich—and you won't be disappointed!

A great little cafe on Degraves Street, Waffle On is the place to go for European inspired bites including French baguettes and some of Melbourne's best waffles (try the nutella—AHHHMAZING!). You can also find a killer cup of coffee at Waffle On, making this Melbourne cafe the perfect pit-stop during your CBD shopping adventures.

The London Tavern on Lennox Street is an old school Richmond pub, usually packed with footy crowds. And why the heck not when it sports one of Melbourne’s best beer gardens (and biggest too!)? Get your fill of hit-the-spot steaks, burgers and parmas. Close to Richmond Station, the London pub is a much-loved local. We’ll cheers to that.

Lennox Street in Richmond plays host to the lovely Hellas Cakes. In the location since 1962, this Greek pastry shop is the perfect place for some home made spanakopita or baklava. Regardless what you order, you’ll be sure to lick your fingers afterwards, as these treats are mighty popular!

While you can eat in at Smith Street Alimentari (we're BIG fans of the fig salad!), the focus is more so on take home meals—fresh, flavoursome and oh so convenient! Our picks? Definitely the lasagna and the arancini balls—some of the quickest, easiest, tastiest dinners you'll find.

Up There in South Melbourne is one of Melbourne's best menswear shops that caters to the more sartorial shopper. Located on High Street in Northcote, Seoul Soul dishes up some of the best Korean BBQ in Melbourne! From traditional Korean chargrill, to ramen and much more, Seoul Soul is the perfect spot for a casual dinner with friends where you can feast on some of Melbourne's best cheap eats. Crompton Coffee in Richmond is the latest, and perhaps only, Melbourne toast cafe.
