If you’re after a feel good feed, don’t go past Lentil as Anything on Heliers Street in Abbotsford. Part of the Abbotsford Convent complex, this leave-your-pretentions-at-the-door set up speaks to the heartstrings. The vegetarian and vegan fare is mighty decent, and the kitchen is run by staff and volunteers after a free feed. You pay what you can, and what you think it’s worth. What a great cause!
Huxtaburger | Hawthorn
Melbourne's fourth Huxtaburger instalment is bound to be a hit! Down the road from Yo-Chi and Fonda, Huxtaburger is heating things up, bringing some of Melbourne’s best burgers to this Hawthorn location. Yes, even Clair, the spicy Southern belle we’re practically always craving. Think Southern fried chicken with slaw and jalapeño mayo. Yep, and now you’re craving it, too!
Rudimentary
Located on Leeds Street in Footscray is a very different Melbourne cafe. Rudimentary is housed in some refurbished shipping containers, and the result couldn’t be more beautiful. With an on site herb and veggie garden, you can’t go past the decadent Buttermilk Waffles with maple, pancetta and fig.
The Kilburn
The Kilburn on Burwood Road in Hawthorn is adding class to your glass. Settle in for some sipping with this snazzy whisky and cocktail bar. With an entire room for whisky tasting, and craft beer on tap, this is one of our new favourite Melbourne bars.

Pizza is a fast favourite with Melbourne crowds, but with Lievita on High Street in Northcote, the pizza experience is a cut apart! Lievita uses a traditional method with a 72-hour dough rising time, making some of the tastiest pizzas in Melbourne. The northside Italian is also expanding into sweet treats too, so expect Italian doughnuts, cannoli and biscotti, as well as pizzette (mini pizzas), piadina, and panini—the perfect pit-stop for Italian breads, pizzas and baked goods.

Brunswick Backyard plays host to the Hammer & Tong food truck every weekend in a permanent outdoor dining space that comes complete with a delicious new menu. Order the croque champignon—essentially a posh toasted sandwich—and you won't be disappointed!
Waffle On
A great little cafe on Degraves Street, Waffle On is the place to go for European inspired bites including French baguettes and some of Melbourne's best waffles (try the nutella—AHHHMAZING!). You can also find a killer cup of coffee at Waffle On, making this Melbourne cafe the perfect pit-stop during your CBD shopping adventures.
