WA’s Border Is Now Open So Start Planning Your Next Interstate Escape

By Claire Logan

Start planning your next big trip because WA’s interstate borders are now open, with restrictions easing overnight with Victoria.

This means, as of today, anyone travelling from other states and territories is free to enter Western Australia without having to spend the mandatory two weeks going slightly insane in quarantine. It also means if you zip off on a cheeky interstate trip, you’ll be free to come back in without having to isolate as well. Yay!

Of course, you can’t just come in willy nilly, McGowan’s still got the travel permit system in place and said it will be around for some time. This means all arrivals will need a G2G pass (including those returning home) that will be verified at the border, and you'll have to undergo health screening, temperature checks and a COVID-19 test if deemed necessary.

While you let the good news sink in, get inspired by these 50 of the best places to visit in Australia.
