arancini as part of a set menu in Perth

There is no shortage of absolutely spectacular places to dine in Perth, but let’s be real—sometimes it may feel like you’re breaking the bank. Luckily, there are plenty of drool-worthy set menus that offer damn good value without sacrificing on top notch food or a coveted experience.

Whether you're in the mood for a laid-back lunch or feast for dinner, here are the best set menus in Perth for under $70pp.

La Cholita

279 William St, Northbridge WA 6003

La Cholita has taken over a decade of taco slinging in its stride. To this day, it remains one of our absolute faves for dinner in Northbridge, so the fact you can tee up a long table Mexican feed in the back room from as little as $27pp for the supper or $41pp for the full banquet is kind of astounding. Throw on a margarita and some jugs of sangria and you'll be shocked by just how affordable this gem is.

No Mafia

The simple yet utterly delicious food at No Mafia can only be made better by the fact you can score a two course meal for $49—plenty left over to indulge in a glass of vino or two. You’ll get to share an array of antipasto including Bread in Common loaf, olives, anchovies, Roman arancini and Prosciutto di Parma before moving on to your pasta of choice. Expect stellar choices like casarecce with sundried tomato pesto and oozy stracciatella or taglioni with calamari and spicy Calabrian sausage aka ‘nduja.

Wildflower

COMO The Treasury Level 4, 1 Cathedral Ave, Perth WA 6000

Wildflower’s two course FLOW lunch is the perfect (and most wallet friendly) way to get a taste for this very special restaurant perched at the top of COMO The Treasury. With sweeping views over the Perth CBD and Swan River, each dish revolves around the indigenous ethos of the six seasons with farmer and forager-driven menus. For $69 you can experience this Perth institution with an entree and main plus bread and sides. It’s a truly special experience.

Bivouac

One of our all time favourite Northbridge restaurants is dishing out the goods with an early bird feast at just $55 per person. The snappy two-course dinner can be booked for an early table for two where you can gorge your senses on two graze and gabble plates, a main and a glass of wine each. It’s the perfect place to dine and dash before heading out to a gig or let’s be honest, back to the couch.

Shui

12 Rokeby Rd, Subiaco WA 6008

It’s hard to believe the incredibly beautiful Shui is home to a banquet lunch that fits the bill at $67, meaning a round of spicy lychee margaritas is an absolute necessity. You’ll be treated to a host of delightful dishes that pack a punch with the restaurant’s all time favourites on offer. The menu is seasonal but you can expect all the goods like wontons, cured fish, zesty stir fries and spicy curries.

We could not be happier to see next-level amazing Long Chim on our list for their two-course Silom lunch ringing in at $44. Inspired by the bustling cosmopolitan streets of Bangkok’s Silom district, this culinary journey celebrates the vibrant flavours and lively atmosphere of Thailand's capital city. For entree you can choose between dishes like deep fried chicken wings with a garlic tamarind sauce or spicy pork with rice cakes. For main, there’s a turmeric spiced yellow chicken curry, pad see ew noodles or fried fish with a three flavoured sauce. It’s gonna be a tough choice.

Stampa!

125 St Georges Terrace, Perth WA 6000

Housed inside the iconic Print Hall, Stampa! draws its inspiration from one of the most gorgeous places on the Italian coast: the Amalfi. During the week, you can get your hands on two courses of deliciousness for $52 with dishes like prosciutto or burrata followed by a flavour-packed pasta, risotto or steak. For an additional $12, add on the traditional tiramisu or affogato. Three courses for $64—we’re so down for that.

The crew at Sweetwater know how to put on a memorable dining experience with dishes that focus on massive flavours and seasonal produce and this is exactly what you can expect with their feed me meal. At $59 for lunch or $69 for dinner you’ll get to indulge in succulent meats, delicate seafood and fresh veggies that showcase the chef’s creativity and culinary expertise.

Hadiqa

Hibernian Place, Top Floor, Cnr Hay Street, 40 Irwin St, Perth WA 6000

Hadiqa’s newly launched Mediterranean menu draws its inspiration from the land to the sea with a mezze of small plates from the heartlands of Lebanon, Turkey and Cyprus. At $69 per person, the four course chef’s tasting experience is ridiculously good value and should be added to your list stat. You’ll start with housemate flatbread and to-die-for dips as well as saganaki (the best ever fried cheese) followed by confit chicken served with a fresh freekeh salad and brussels with walnuts and balsamic cream or charred carrots with tahini. To finish? Housemade cashew baklava of course and your choice of an almond cake with pistachio cream or chocolate mousse served with orange and an almond crumb.

Spring on Queen

The super cool Spring on Queen is slinging out four courses of tasty treats for $69 with shared starters, your choice of entree and main, and shared sides and desserts. The menu changes on the reg but you can guarantee it will knock your socks off. Starters are usually some form of sourdough bread served with a spread of cheese and meats followed by your choice of entree like cured kingfish or seared beef with a sweet sake glaze. For main? Goodies like rigatoni alla vodka or roast pumpkin gnocchi are served up along sides of smashed potatoes and peas. Our final, and of course favourite course is dessert with none other than a tiramisu or chocolate fondue.

Varnish on King

75 King St, Perth WA 6000

Head to American-style whiskey bar Varnish with a group of mates and get stuck into the six course chef’s hook up menu for $65 each. You’ll get a whole heap of dishes to share like Nashville fried chicken wings and the famous Varnish mac and cheese with gruyere, cheddar and Louisiana spice. For dessert, it has to be a chocolate brownie with a whiskey caramel sauce, pretzels and vanilla ice cream. Total decadence.

The Heritage

131 St Georges Terrace, Perth WA 6000

Set within the 1920s sandstone arches of the beautifully restored Royal Insurance Building, The Heritage has been calling the Perth CBD home for over ten years. For lunch or a speedy pre-show dinner, the express menu is calling your name. For $65 per person you’ll be served snacks at the table like bread with fancy pickles and cheese, along with your choice of main - fish kohlrabi, beef sirloin or pumpkin dahl with a side of salad and crispy house chips.

The Meat & Wine Co

Ground Floor/108 St Georges Terrace, Perth WA 6000

The express one, two or three course lunches at The Meat & Wine Co is one of the best ways to experience this epic restaurant even if you’re on a bit of a budget. We reckon the best value is of course the three courses at $49 where you can choose from dishes like pork belly or szechuan calamari to start, and a 250 gram rump steak or wagyu beef burger for your main. For dessert, a creme brulee or sticky date pudding is the sweetest possible way to end your visit.

The Stables

888 Hay St, Perth WA 6000

Just when you thought The Stables couldn’t get any better, they’ve gone and rolled out a feed me menu with two courses for $55 or three for $70. Designed for groups of four or more, you’ll begin with shared plates like wood fired Turkish bread with green goddess hummus and mozzarella arancini with truffle mayo. For mains, how about sweet potato gnocchi or crispy skinned barramundi followed by a vanilla bean semifreddo with stone fruit compote? Literally drooling.
