  • Where You Should Eat In Claremont This Weekend, Claremont Cafes, Claremont Restaurants

Claremont has long had the designer boutiques, the fancy frocks and a very respectable coffee run, but lately, the suburb’s biggest flex has been what’s landing on the dinner table.

From handmade pasta and Roman-style pizza to izakayas, wine bars and riverside dining just beyond the postcode, these are the spots making Claremont and its surrounds worth sticking around after 5pm.

Il Santo

16 Bay View Terrace, Claremont WA 6010

Move over Claremont coffee runs—the new neighbourhood ritual in town is a pasta pilgrimage to Il Santo. Freshly opened on Bay View Terrace, this brand spankin' wine-led osteria from the team behind Cottesloe’s Il Lido is bringing handmade pasta, Italian aperitivo and a little more dolce vita to the ’Mont.

The space has been designed as a true neighbourhood local rather than a once-a-year affair, with a menu made for everything from long Saturday lunches and midweek catch-ups to after-work drinks and date-night dinners. Pair that with more than 100 Italian wines and switched-on service, and this newcomer has all the ingredients to become a Claremont favourite.

INSIDER INTEL
  • BYO Mondays are a very good excuse to make this your new neighbourhood local
The mafaldine e fagioli is a standout—a bowl of ruffled ribbons and beans that feels like the Italian equivalent of a warm hug
Beyond the pasta, keep an eye out for the Shark Bay prawn sandwich, a nostalgic little number inspired by the fish finger sangas of your childhood (but with a very grown-up glow-up)
