Try as we may to fight it, we’re all aging. And while we’re all for maintaining a more natural look and aging gracefully, when we hear there’s a game-changing non-invasive treatment that can press pause on those fine lines while also helping get rid of acne, heal scarring and just generally boost your natural glow, well we’re obviously going to look into it.
Introducing Kleresca Skin Rejuvenation, the breakthrough LED treatment that is gentle on skin and big on results—with studies showing it delivers a whopping 400% increase in collagen production. And by now you should know, more collagen means more youthful looking skin.
With a little help from the team at Absolute Cosmetic Raine Square, we put the treatment to the test to see if it stacks up to the hype. Here’s what you need to know.
What Is Kleresca
Inspired by photosynthesis (yes, that thing plants do to get energy), the Kleresca treatment uses fluorescent light energy to stimulate the skin at a cellular level.
The combination of the photoconverter gel, which contains chromophores, and the Kleresca LED lamp, helps convert the fluorescent light into light energy and stimulates your own repair mechanisms—activating those much-loved collagen producing cells which may have slacked off a bit over the years.
What To Expect During The Treatment
First up, you’ll sit down and chat through your skin condition and concerns with one of Absolute Cosmetic’s specialists to make sure the treatment is right for you and discuss how many sessions are recommended. This will include talking through any allergies so they can take them directly to Kleresca to check you’re safe to go ahead.
At your first session, expect a quick cleanse before the cool orange gel is applied all over your face. Then your little safety eye shields are popped on and the lamp is pulled over. Much like any LED skin treatment, it’ll seem pretty bright (even with the eye shields) and can feel a little warm and tingly, especially near the end of the treatment.
I honestly found the whole thing quite relaxing but if you do start to get a little uncomfortable, try and relax—the whole treatment takes less than ten minutes. Once you’re done, the gel is removed and your face is given a final cleanse before some thick moisturizer is applied and you’re sent on your way. Easy, right?
You then rinse and repeat for the number of sessions your specialist recommends. I went for five over five weeks, with my specialist suggesting it’s better to pack a few closer together initially to really double down on the effects, then you can just go in every now and again if you feel like you need a top up.
What To Expect After The Treatment
After each session you do notice an immediate difference but because you’ve kickstarted your skin’s natural repair, the effects actually get better over time. The 12 week mark is when the real magic starts to happen.
I noticed improved skin texture, reduced pore size around my nose, reduction in old scars, and way less breakouts. So all in all, my skin was looking a helluva lot better than when I went in, and I wasn’t the only one that noticed—the compliments confirmed it wasn’t just me imagining it.
Everyone’s different, but for the most part there’s not too much to worry about in terms of side effects either. You might notice a little hyperpigmentation (bronzing and freckling) for a few days following the session, but honestly I thought that was kinda cute (I mean, it’s like the Insta filter irl, right?). Others have also noticed a little redness or swelling, but again, it’ll disappear within a few days. There’s also no downtime whatsoever after your session. Love that!
The Verdict
Having had LED treatments before without noticing too much change, I honestly wasn’t expecting too much from Kleresca but oh how wrong I was. This treatment really helped me turn a corner with my skin health and honestly, it hasn’t felt this radiant in years.
The fact it’s quick, super gentle and long-lasting are also all big ticks in my books and I’ve wasted no time recommending the treatment to friends.
If you are starting to feel the effects of aging or looking to reduce those pesky scars of pimples past, I’d definitely suggest you book in for a Kleresca consult at Absolute Cosmetic.
Costs
Now, let’s talk dollars. Like any good skin treatment, it’s not cheap, but it’s no different to a lot of the other skin solutions you’ve no doubt splurged on before. A session can set you back $300, so depending how many you do, you could be looking at a $1000+ upfront investment. But that’s just it, it is an investment. Given the effects get better over time you’ll hopefully be saving on other skin treatments down the line… well at least that’s how I like to think of it.
