Here’s Where To Buy A Real Christmas Tree In Perth This Year

Silly season can test even the most chilled-out elves. Crowded mega-shopping centres (and even more packed carparks), last-minute panic-buying of prezzies, and cooking a feast for those long-lost relatives who are gluten-free, dairy-free and fun-free. But here’s the silver lining—while you can’t escape the chaos of Christmas, you can ditch the fake plastic trees and fill your home with the glorious scent of fresh pine.

Like any living thing, real Christmas trees need a little love, and with Perth’s summers, they definitely need a little extra TLC. First rule: keep it cool. Park it away from windows and any doors that let in hot air (so… basically half the house in December). Give the trunk a fresh cut before setting it up so it can actually drink, then pop it straight into a stand filled with plenty of water, because yep, these things are thirsty.

Expect to top it up every single day; some trees will smash a litre without blinking. A light spritz on the branches helps too. Stick to cool LED lights, skip the old-school hot ones, and try to set the tree up mid-December so it stays lush through Christmas Day.

Perth/Boorloo might not exactly be a pine paradise but fear not, I’ve tracked down the spots where you can nab a real Christmas tree this year. From towering traditional pines to charming little mini trees, here’s where to score your festive foliage.
