Once you get past the absolute shock that this time of year has rolled around again, it’s time to start planning those all-important Christmas drinks. Whether you’re planning a shindig for the entire office, or celebrating those end of year feels with your mates—there are plenty of spots across Perth to get festive. 

Capitalise on that open bar and start stacking your social calendar—here are the best places in Perth to have your Christmas party. 

Hadiqa 

Perth

Nestled on the rooftop of Hibernian Place, this leafy restaurant is a Middle Eastern inspired gem. The share-style menu is fused with Moroccan and Mediterranean bites so just accept that you’ll end up over-ordering (and still finish every last bite). Garum

Located in a beautiful heritage building, Garum is inspired by Ancient Roman cuisine and heroes local WA ingredients. Insider tip: if you sneak out of work a little early and visit during Apertivo hours (4.30pm to 6pm) you can score any of their daily specials half price. Get ready to boogie, with back-to-back DJ sets at Si Paradiso. With a classic cocktail list plus Neopolitan pizza and antipasto, you have the makings of a stellar night to wrap up the year. Their outdoor amphitheatre fits up to 350 people for dining and dancing under the stars.

You won’t have any trouble getting into the Christmas spirit at Hotel Aloft Perth, with all kinds of party packages. Celebrate poolside for $70 ahead with drinks, a barbeque and a DJ. Or if you’d rather something a little more substantial then opt for the rooftop Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and drinks. Los Bravos

You’ll be feeling festive after drinking the espresso martinis with baby churros at Los Bravos. The new tapas restaurant from the team behind No Mafia has all kinds of Spanish dishes to get you salivating. Some of the standouts include made to order Paella, 48 hour cured Spanish mackerel and charred Fremantle octopus. You can book the whole William Street venue between 12 and 4pm. 

The Flour Factory

Tried and true—The Flour Factory is always good but especially at this time of year. If you’re planning a big shindig, score your very own private rooftop bar and book the Sherry. If you want to get a little more interactive with a few of mates, there’s a couple of Gin 101 Masterclasses before the end of the year. You’ll hone your tasting skills but best of all get to dig into the ginventory with over 100 gins from across the globe. Book here

Tiny’s Bar And Liquor Emporium

Two words: liquor emporium. Yep, it’s safe to say you’ll be covered on the drinks front. Take a look in the kitchen and you’ll find a wood-fired grill and rotisserie. The large venue has indoor and garden function space. Drinks packages start at $40 per person for seasonal cocktails, craft beer and small batch wines. For a casual end of year catch-up, hit up Tiny’s Tasting, where you can sample the latest beer, wines and spirits every Thursday from 4.30 to 6.30pm. And it’s free.

Fremantle 

This Freo favourite is now staying up late so skip on in for that end of year dinner. Check out the extensive cocktail menu, but be warned you’ll be hard pressed to stop at just one. And yes, they take function bookings. Book here

If you’d trade in Christmas pressies for dumplings any day, then Shy John is the ultimate spot to have celebratory drinks. Spread across two-storeys, this Yagan Square yum cha joint and brewery dishes up some authentic Cantonese eats. Book here

The Beach Club

We think freshly shucked oysters and bubbly should be a prerequisite for any end of year drinks. Every Friday, the Beach Club has three oysters and a glass of Veuve for $20. Or if you want to take it up a notch you can book a package with a cocktail pitcher, canapes, oysters, premium spirits and French champagne.
