Tucked down Old Theatre Lane in Claremont, The Lane Bookshop is worth dragging yourself away from the Quarter for. We love a bookstore that’s open late, and Oxford St Books in Leederville is no exception. Stocking all your regular bookshop finds as well as some killer biographies, some of the best art and coffee table books, travel tomes and an impressive range of YA and kids fiction, Oxford St Books is the place to go if you’re running late for your friends b-day party and don’t have a present yet. They’ve got a very impressive collection of cards!

If you’re not too sure what to read next why not try Liz’s Blind Date With A Book—a gift wrapped mystery book, you can choose the lucky book using the hints on the front cover. Kaleido Books & Gifts in the Perth CBD is our saviour when we’re dreading that long and boring ride home on the train. Divided into categories like How To Be Betterer (self-development), Something Feigned, Invented or Imagined (fiction) and Coming Of Page (young adult), Kaleido strikes the perfect balance between quirky and cool, and if we’re being honest we’ve missed many a train perusing the shelves here.

Crow Books in East Victoria Park is a delightful little Perth bookstore. The shelves are packed with hard-to-find books and popular reads, and their staff recommendations are pretty spot on. This place has that amazing old book smell that makes you want to curl up with a tea and a bloody good read. P.S. Look for the cookie dough diet book!

Diabolik Books & Records is another little pop culture hive in Mount Hawthorn. Among the fiction and non-fiction reads, you’ll find a quality selection of comic books and graphic novels, lowbrow, art and music tomes, notebooks, games and gifts. And on top of all that they stock a killer selection of records—it’s got everything you’d want from a bookstore and more!

Planet Books is all that remains of the once booming pop culture corner of Mount Lawley and we hope it stays put for years to come because it is one of our favourite Perth bookstores. With an impressive fiction collection, including everything from the classics to modern best sellers, and an even more impressive range of non-fiction books (the cookbook collection is madness), the guys at Planet are super sweet and always willing to throw a recommendation your way.

Stocking some of the best homewares, gifts and accessories in Perth, it's definitely worth the drive up the hill to visit First Avenue Kitchen & Home in Kalamunda. Think luxe cookware (hello Chasseur), a massive range of furniture, candles, soft furnishings and everything you need to make your home that little bit more special. Be warned, your time and money will disappear quickly when you visit First Avenue!

Life Less Ordinary in Wembley is full of beautiful homewares, jewellery and gifts. Grab your daily brew from Workshop Espresso next door and then treat yourself to something pretty. Little Cheese Shop in Bayswater is dedicated to everything cheese related! With specialty cheeses from all over the world this adorable little shop on Whatley Crescent also stocks cheese knives, boards and quirky knick knacks for anyone with a penchant for the yellow yummy stuff. No need to worry about putting together a cheese board for your next party, the Little Cheese Shop can do this for you, they’ll even help you host a cheese event in your home. Pop in for a visit the next chance you get and sample the goods.

This industrial chic Freo boutique needs to be your next stop when you're looking for those perfect threads. It's got that NYC fashion vibe featuring a stack load of men's and women's clothing so they're bound to have something that's right up your alley. The list of designer clothing is endless and the awesome team that work there will ensure you leave feeling a million bucks!

Department on Beaufort is a sophisticated Perth boutique showcasing fashion pieces that would make any stylist envious. The team takes pride in their expert fashion and styling experience, providing a high level of service that makes shopping here a dream. Department stocks Australian and international designers including Camilla and Marc, Zimmermann, Cohen et Sabine, Nicolangela and Zambesi.

A whole store full of Honeycake... what more could you ask for? Layers upon layers of crumbly, creamy goodness. Located in the newly refurbished state buildings alongside Sue Lewis Chocolatier and Sugarplum Sweets (drool), The Honeycake is your one-stop-shop for buying, ordering, tasting and trying all things Honeycake—including Honeycake cheesecake! You honestly don't even need to think about going anywhere else in Perth. 

Balcatta Growers Fresh is run by family, everything is fresh and they have a footlong continental roll.... just stop. This is your one stop shop for antipasto, pasta, paninis, lunchtime goodies and so much meat and fresh veggies. Make sure you take an extra big shopping bag! You'll need it.

Stand'In Room in Claremont is—as the name suggests—super tiny,  but it's also super cute. Sitting pretty on Bayview Terrace, these guys are dishing out great (and reasonably priced) coffee, cold pressed juice, bliss balls and some beautiful flowers and succulents so you can pick up a treat for yourself while you get your morning coffee.

Stackwood is located in the old diesel warehouse in Fremantle, and we couldn't love it more if we tried. Part creative studio, part event space and part concept store, this is one place you need to pop into if you're looking for local wares or indoor plants. The team here also run various workshops, encouraging locals to come together and learn new skills like cooking, knitting, painting and more. 

The gals at Little Leaf Co have got an eye for interior styling and they’ll have your place looking lush in a matter of minutes if you give them half a chance. These guys also sell the beautiful Pop & Scott pots as well as plant stands and chalk paint in case you feel like getting creative. The trip to the plant packed warehouse in Booragoon is most definitely worth it. 

For some of the coolest clothes kicking about, head to The Bronze Snake Shop in Northbridge. Originally hailing from Melbourne, this awesome little shop stocks wares for stylish guys and gals, as well as bags, sunglasses and other accessories. Located on William Street, the guys at The Bronze Snake shop are super friendly and their prices are wallet friendly too—so you can buy more! 

The beautiful light-filled space that is Wanderlust is impossible not to stop in at when in Maylands. Stocking the kind of homewares and gifts you’ll see on the pages of your favourite lifestyle blog, this Perth homewares store has got lust-worthy jewellery, artwork, vases, candles, throw pillows, rugs and more.

One of the trendiest skate shops around, Momentum Skate in Claremont has all your skater boy needs covered. Stocking all things skate, including limited edition boards, as well as hosting meet and greets with some of the industry legends, these guys have got you covered.

We can't even deal with the amount of lusciousness that comes out of Ae'lkemi Boutique in Claremont. This Claremont store is full of drop-dead gorgeous clothing sporting sequins, beading, lace and feathers. Drop in and get your mits on one of the most beautiful dresses you will ever own.

It's all in the name...Savvy Brands has the utmost savviest of brands in their delightful little store in East Fremantle. With the friendliest staff to top it off, it is the perfect place to snatch up an amazing outfit—whether it's a big occiasion or something sweet and casual. They have some incredible brands in store and the next minute, even better ones just start rolling in (hello Bec and Bridge and Amber Secrets!). This little gem is a must visit.

CULTSTATUS is an amazing multi-designer, high fashion designer store featuring some of the most luxurious handbags, footwear and accessories in Claremont. All pieces featured in the store are either from some of the worlds leading designers or from emerging designers who are keen to get their work out there.
