Synonymous with beach sports and activities, East Coast Park is a 15 kilometre-stretch of golden sand peppered with a world-class Xtreme skateboarding park, bustling restaurants, and smooth cycle paths.

The perfect place to hole up for the entire day, you can work on your tan while eating your way through hearty local dishes like satay and barbequed seafood at East Coast Lagoon Food Village then enjoy a cocktail under the swaying palm trees once the sun has set.

From food stalls to beach-side Italian eateries, Urban List has rounded up the best East Coast Park restaurants for delectable cuisine and picturesque ocean backdrops.

Fico

If you prefer your meals with a side of salty sea breeze, Fico needs to be on your radar. The new beach-side Italian eatery at East Coast Park takes its vibe straight from a Puglian masseria—complete with an open-air, waterfront terrace, and plenty of terracotta tiling.

Foodwise, the seafood platter bursting with oysters and red prawns is a bonafide crowd-pleaser, but their cacio e pepe is the stuff dreams are made of. Whipped up in a pecorino wheel table-side, the spaghetti is a gift for the ‘gram and the soul. Turns out we’re not the only fans of Fico, so tables book up fast.

Can’t get a table? Don’t worry, FICO has just launched a new Rent-A-Picnic bundle ($78) which is perfect for two and can be ordered and picked up at their kiosk and then enjoyed by the beach.

East Coast Commune

Located at the Marine Cove enclave at East Coast Park, East Coast Commune is the perfect place to enjoy a cuppa while soaking up Mother Nature. The cafe is dotted with Scandi-themed furnishings, live plants, teal feature walls and marine-themed artwork as an ode to their coastal location.

The menu consists of wholesome western fare with an Asian influence—think chicken and waffles with spiced chicken thighs and sriracha cream and crispy snapper marinated in turmeric and cumin. Special attention has been paid to the children’s menu, with healthy options such as chicken bowls and oatmeal on offer. The kid-friendly space also has ample room for strollers and is equipped with baby seats, a play area with open-ended toys and a curated library of books housed on low shelves.

Long Beach UDMC

If you’re looking to indulge in a seafood feast with a beachfront view, look no further than Long Beach at East Coast Park. With outlets across the country, Long Beach has become the go-to for many Singaporeans, but be warned, the prices are as premium as the seafood they serve.

Although Long Beach is home to the original black pepper crab, we recommend their chilli crab. The sizable Sri Lankan Mud Crabs are doused in a spicier-than-average sauce which is thickened with eggs and should be soaked up with your choice of fried or steamed buns.

With its white-washed walls and ocean blue upholstery you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported to a summer beach house when you step inside PS.Cafe. The bright and airy space takes its design inspiration from the seaside itself and offers a menu full of PS. classics, as well as an extensive selection of seafood dishes in keeping with its surroundings.

For brunch we recommend the blueberry pancakes and breakfast grand slam bunwich which comes with a fried egg, crispy bacon, pork sausage, caramelised onion and raisin relish. For dinner you can’t beat their pizza and the beer-battered fish and chips.

Although Jumbo Seafood has locations across Singapore, our favourite is their flagship East Coast Park outlet which first opened back in 1987.

Capturing the hearts of locals with its award-winning chilli crab, black pepper crab and other fresh seafood cooked to perfection, Jumbo prides itself on continuously creating distinctive dishes to cater to different tastes—this includes non-seafood options for our non-fish-eating friends.
