Sake Double Bay’s First Birthday
Sake in Double Bay will turn one this Wednesday and to celebrate they’ve devised a dainty seven course meal, including thoughtfully paired drinks with each dish. This menu proves matchmaking is best left to the experts—think duck tataki alongside a Japanese rosé, Japanese style wagyu sirloin with a locally-grown shiraz and the intriguing sake “float” with sparkling sake.
When: Wednesday 27th January
Where: Sake, Double Bay
The Yak Ales Sydney Barbecue Festival Dinner
If you watched Aussie BBQ Heroes (summer TV, hey) you’ll already know there is more to the grill than the how-burnt-is-too-burnt philosophy. As part of the Sydney Barbecue Festival, executive chef of the Alabama’s Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q Competition Cooking Team, Chris Lilly, will join home grown meat expert Luke Powell of LP’s Quality Meats for an evening of carnivorous proportions. Chris is big news in the barbecuing business, with swag of prestigious awards to his name including multiple World Championship titles. Chris and Luke will collaborate over a four course sharing menu featuring LP’s signature smoked meats and beverages by Yak Ales and Pepperjack Wines.
When: Thursday 28th January
Where: LP’s Quality Meats, Chippendale
Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema
Outdoor cinemas are generally far superior to the regular movies, so long as you have the weather gods on side. The Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema boasts an exciting line up of new release and classic films as well as access to a fully licensed bar, street style food from The Tuckshop, candy bar and Gelato Messina choc tops. The line up for next week includes The Peanuts Movie (ie. The Snoopy movie), Alvin and The Chipmunks, Southpaw, Creed and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
