Elsbeth Shaw x Mariam Seddiq Exhibition
Fashion and art collide in this limited-time-only exhibition by London-based contemporary artist Elsbeth Shaw and Sydney fashion designer Mariam Seddiq. The two creative powerhouses have joined forces to reimagine one of Seddiq’s signature sculptural silhouettes with thousands of meticulously hand-painted circles—yep, you’ve got to see it to believe it. The exhibition coincides with Seddiq’s 1o-year anniversary in the fashion story, with her star-studded career including fans in Rita Ora, Kelly Rowland, Iggy Azalea and more.

Night Feast
When the sun goes down, the feast begins. Melt Festival

Back and more fabulous than ever, Brisbane’s annual festival of queer arts and culture is gearing up for a city-wide celebration featuring internationally acclaimed artists, homegrown icons, and boundary-pushing brilliance. From the Queensland premiere of enGORGEd by the sharp-witted and Swarovski-studded Reuben Kaye to Ben Graetz’s Miss First Nation drag pageant, you can expect a powerful line-up full of pride at this year’s Melt Festival. The River Pride Parade will once again be floating from West End to Brisbane Powerhouse, Queer PowerPoint is the geeky and hilarious night out where anyone can take the stage to share their wild theories, and even iconic star of stage and screen Bernadette Petters is getting in on the Melt action with her first Australian performance in over a decade. There’s also an unhinged Queer wrestle-party at The Tivoli, a sapphic burlesque show, and 1000 voices—a major choral event uniting queer and ally singers in one monumental moment. Milton House Spring Social

Feel Good Program

South Bank’s Feel Good Program offers a jam-packed lineup of yoga, Pilates, Zumba, body combat, and aqua classes designed for all ages and fitness levels. Take yourself back to an iconic era of Australian queer culture with Queensland Museum's latest free exhibition: Make A Scene. The fashion-forward 90s showcase features all things colour, camp, pop culture and community—from fearless self-expressions of LGBTQIA+ identity to the Brisbane-based labels that defined the era. Coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality, the immersive exhibition is your chance to engage with personal stories that unfolded on the underground nightclub and dance party scene. It’s glamorous, it’s moving and it’s full of pride.

Under A Modern Sun
Sun-kissed and light-filled, QAGOMA’s new and free exhibition features more than 140 paintings, sculptures, photographs and works of decorative art that paint a picture of what life was like in the Sunshine State from the 1930s to 1950s. Featuring art from renowned Brisbane-based artists including William Bustard, Vida Lahey and Margaret Olley, as well as luminaries from the regions such as Kenneth Macqueen and Joe Alimindjin Rootsey, Under A Modern Sun presents a “light-filled vision of Queensland and reveals the beginnings of more experimental means of expression," QAGOMA Director Chris Saines says. Oh, and did we mention it’s free?

The world’s most famous omurice chef is coming back to Brisbane for two days of food theatre and viral feasting. The highly entertaining Chef Motokichi is a Japanese legend, whose 12-seater Kyoto restaurant Kichi Kichi has the most coveted spots in town—bringing in hordes of food lovers looking to try his iconic omurice.
