Mamasan Kitchen & Bar is a hatted restaurant in Broadbeach and they do a seriously good dumpling. Our pick? The spanner crab ravioli dumplings with scallops, water chestnut & coconut sambal bisque.
From the moment Mr Hizola stepped foot on our sandy shores, our stomachs have been better off. You can order a dumpling platter with six dumplings hand-picked by the chef. There are some great options for the vegos too. Choose between kale, pea & sweet potato dumplings or kale & mushroom fried wontons.
The team at Jimmy Wah’s has been serving up Vietnamese with a modern Australian influence for two years now. How time flies when you’re eating great food. We recommend you try their moreish snapper & crab dumplings, cooked in a Marin & white soy broth. Our tip? Save room for their fried bao with snickers ice cream & salted caramel.
Hideaway Kitchen & Bar
When there’s an entire section on the menu dedicated to dumplings, you know you’re in for a good time. From fried honey crab & prawn to fried kale & edamame, Hideaway has you sorted. If leaving the house sounds like too much trouble, order on Deliveroo and wait for the mini bundles of joy to arrive at your door.
The crew at Etsu dish up two types of epic house-made gyoza. Their wagyu gyoza is filled with wagyu, mushroom duxelles & scallions while their Etsu gyoza is made with pork, chives & cabbage. Both come with a dash of chilli soy dipping sauce, and a dash of joy.
Backbone Bar & Kitchen
Stop. Scrolling. Backbone offers $1 dumplings every Sunday (including chicken gyoza or vegetarian). Their dumplings are handmade on site and they cater for all tastes, from pork gyoza to vegan tofu.
There should be no limit on your dumpling desires. If you’re hankering for a big dumpling sesh, head to Bazaar at QT Gold Coast. Their interactive marketplace has made-to-order dumplings including pork & prawn, prawn & chive and vegetable. Did we mention you can order as many as you like?
This Asian dining precinct is in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Featuring a range of eateries, you’ll find everything from bubble tea to ramen, and of course, dumplings! Dumpling Mama is famous for their homemade dumplings and guo tie (similar to fried dumplings).
As the name suggests this eatery specialises in a cracking good gyoza, both sweet and savoury. We highly reccomend their Nutella, salted caramel, peanut butter and white chocolate offerings. And even better, they do gyoza breakfast too. Yep, we've died and gone to gyoza heaven.
