By Clare Acheson - 16 Mar 2015

If you’re looking for a handy round up of what you should be doing with your free time this week, Listers, you’ve come to the right place. Our team of events hotshots has hand-picked five of the most awesome things to do in Melbourne over the next five days. There’s film, food and French champagne, so before you fill up your diary, make sure you have read this cracking list.

Monday 16th March

Starting the week by sipping some French bubbles is definitely on our list of top lavish things to do in Melbourne! South Yarra restaurant, Jardin Tan, plays host to the Veuve Clicquot Airstream van this week, serving delicious food (wild soft shell crab bahn mi, yes please) and world-class champagne until sundown.

Tuesday 17th March

TOASTA Tuesdays at The Nelson Rum Bar in St Kilda are our new favourite weekly dinner date. The team behind the TOASTA food truck are taking over The Nelson’s kitchen every Tuesday to serve up some of the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches you will eat. Pair that with a top-notch selection of rums, and you’ve got yourself one of the best things to do in Melbourne for simple foodie indulgence.

Wednesday 18th March

Wednesday sees the last evening of the Vinteloper Urban Winery Project, which lets you get up close and personal with the wine making process. Participants will be given the opportunity to foot-crush and ferment their own vino, and foodie masters Pot & Pan have designed a culinary spread that artisan wine maker David Bowley has matched boutique wines to. Our top pick of foodie things to do in Melbourne this week.

Thursday 19th March

Let’s face it: By the time it gets to Thursday, nobody wants to be bothered with cooking dinner, so why not head to New Shanghai’s Dumpling Thursdays? The CBD restaurant hidden in Emporium serves up some delicious, freshly made parcels of goodness—the prawn, chilli and ginger wontons with extra peanut sauce are incredible—so shelve the saucepans and get dipping.
