Aussie Wine Month and Good Beer Week are both in full swing, so this means there is a whole week of drinking and eating ahead! Melburnians, we're pretty sure you’ll be cool with that.
Check out our list of 5 awesome things to do in Melbourne this week.
Stonnington Jazz Festival
The Stonnington Jazz festival returns for its 11th year to showcase the best of the Australian jazz scene. The line-up has something for everyone from full blown jazz fanatics to newcomers to the jazz world. Those into Mad Max should be keen on the festival’s unique event, JazzMax, at The Astor on Tuesday, where instrumental afrobeat band, The Shaolin Afronauts, will reinterpret the original score live alongside a screening of the film. Another exclusive event not to be missed is The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, featuring a range of live performers such as Vince Jones and Sampa The Great, paying tribute to the self-proclaimed ‘bluesologist’, Gil Scott-Heron.
Arcade Lock-in Sessions at Forgotten Worlds
Great beer, burgers and gaming—now that's something to get excited about! Over 5 days, Forgotten Worlds will set all their arcade machines to free play, open their taps to a new Australian brewery each night, and have the boys from BurgerTime Burger flipping patties in the courtyard til late. Monday night is Six String Brewing Co's chance to takeover the taps. With only 50 tix per session and an abudance of beer and game lovers out there, we suggest you snap up your tickets ASAP.
