things to do in melbourne

With the weather finally looking up, Melbourne is delivering the goods to help us keep our spirits high all week long. And oh, what a week we’ve lined up for you! All you can eat oysters, sandwich deliveries to your best mates, and even a Vogue shopping night – your only trouble will be squeezing it all into your week.

Here are five awesome things to do in Melbourne this week.

Tuesday 23rd

Circa Millennial Dinner

Circa is calling all oenophiles to the wine event of a lifetime (literally). After selling out in July, the Millennial Dinner is back with an exclusive wine-matched dinz, celebrating the very best vinos of the year 2000. Held in Circa’s private dining room, you’ll enjoy ALL the wine from Australia, the Napa Valley, and even some European gems. There’ll be five delicious courses, featuring the likes of Western Australian marron, wild rabbit, and aged roasted duck. This is one of the most extravagant dinners you’ll find in Melbourne, so grab yourself a spot.

Thursday 25th

South American Red Wine Tasting

Take a trip down to South America and greet the weekend early with the ultimate vino tasting at Vamos Bar! You can either opt for the standard wine tasting, or grab yourself a cheese platter to share with your significant other/mate. Located on Little Bourke Street, Vamos is a fusion of Melburnian and Latin American vibes – making for the perfect place to spend your Thursday night. Presale tickets are just $15, and tickets with a cheese platter for two are $50!

Oyster Frenzy #13

After selling out Oyster Frenzy #12, it seems only logical to assume Oyster Frenzy #13 promises great things. Hosted by The Deck at Circa, you and your mates get to feast on unlimited oysters, mussels, seafood canapes, sparkling wine, beers and cider – yup, preeeetty epic. This is going to be shucking awesome. The only thing unlucky about this one is missing out on tickets – so grab them here.

Friday 26th

Vogue Fashion’s Night Out

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is here, and that means it’s time for the Vogue’s Fashion Night Out! This epic shopping event was created by Anna Wintour in 2009, and it’s gracing Melbourne with hundreds of offers during a one-night shopping frenzy. Taking over Melbourne’s CBD, this is the perfect time to get your wardrobe ready for spring! Our best advice – don’t spend all your savings in one go (it may be a struggle). Plan your night out to make sure you nab the best bargains and get ready for a hectic Friday night.

Helga's are curing the lunchtime hangries across the CBD this week, delivering you and your mates sandwiches, hoorah! There's a different sandwich available each day, with tasty offerings like pulled pork, chicken schnitzel and smoked salmon. For $6 a pop you'll get a sanga, complete with a handwritten note, because who didn’t love it when your mum wrote a note on your lunch, all personally delivered to your mates (or yourself) in Melbourne’s CBD. The best part? All money raised from you having a damn tasty lunch, and giving your mates the warm and fuzzies, will be donated to Foodbank. Orders close midday the day before, deliveries are made in the CBD, between 10am – 2pm, every day from 29 August to 2 September. Visit Helga's to place your order and find out more.
