Since arriving on the scene, Four Pillars have set the standard for gin in the modern age of Australia. Their distillery set amongst the leafy surroundings of Healesville is home to some of the best botanically infused drops that we’ve ever seen.

Known for their creative and innovative gin variations, there's been many a marvellous creations from the Four Pillars team over their tenure including the seasonal favourite Christmas Gin, the Beachouse Gin collaboration with Arbory Float, their spiced Negroni blend, and of course their notorious Bloody Shiraz Gin, with this year’s vintage dropping Tuesday 1 June.

First released back in 2015 the Bloody Shiraz Gin with its all-natural red colouring made waves across gin bars and late-night haunts of Melbourne. Stronger than a typical sloe gin, the Bloody Shiraz with its natural process became a fan favourite, being welcomed with wide open arms by gin swillers all over.

Made from grapes grown from Four Pillars neighbouring Yarra Valley vineyards, Co-Founder and Distiller Cam Mackenzie says this year’s batch is some of the best plonk that he’s seen, “I’m gonna call it: best ever vintage. Might’ve said that last year and probably the year before. But you can definitely believe it this time. Until next year, of course,” said Cam.

To mark this triumphant return of the citrus and spiced Shiraz Gin, Four Pillars are rolling out the bloody red carpet for a couple of good ol’ fashion gin dust-ups.  Head to the Four Pillars HQ in Healesville to see it be painted bloody with shiraz gin drinks flowing as well as speciality 60-minute masterclasses giving you an exclusive taste of the gin release. The rooftop of QT Melbourne will be transformed into a purple oasis slinging a bespoke bloody menu, and finally, Thornbury Picture House will host a bloody themed gin + film festival in July.

If all that wasn’t enough, this year's release line-up also features a Bloody Shiraz Gin Grape & Quince Paste and a Bloody Shiraz Caviar, made from all the leftover ingredients used in the Bloody Shiraz distilling process, and they'll all be available online Tuesday 1 June here.
