We’ve been keeping you up to date with what’s on each weekend in Perth for a while now but with so much goodness happening during the week, we decided it was time to clue you in on the absolute best of the best things happening in our fine city from Monday to Thursday each week.
It’s time to get out of your mid-week funk, guys! Here are 5 awesome things to do in Perth this week.
Blue Cow At The Blue Room Theatre
Alice Cooper and the Perth premier of her one-woman show Blue Cow will be running as part of The Blue Room Theatre’s Summer Nights program. We know a show about what it means to be contaminated may sound a bit intense, rest assured it’s as funny as it is dark with just the right amount of quirk to liven up your week. Get tickets here.
The End Of The Tour At The Somerville
The setting at UWA’s Outdoor Somerville Theatre is reason enough to head out during the week, but having said that we do appreciate that they throw on a stack of great movies too. Next week you can catch The End Of The Tour, a film about journalist David Lipsky’s assignment to interview author David Foster Wallace following the release of his international best seller Infinite Jess. So grab some cushions, pack an epic picnic and don’t forget your bug spray. Grab tickets here.
Tuesday 16 – Saturday 20 February
Celia Pacquola At The State Theatre Centre Of WA
Look I’ll admit that I didn’t recognise her name immediately, but when I found out this was Billie’s assistant from Offspring (her name is Ange by the way #diehardfan) slash Nat from Utopia I was sold. Turns out Celia Pacquola has been doing stand up for 10 years and she is mighty fine at it, selling out her last show throughout Oz. No doubt her new show, premiering on Tuesday 16th February is going to be just as good. Tickets available here.
Wednesday 17 February
Strange Tastes At Strange Company
Fremantle bar Strange Company knows what they’re doing when it comes to wine, they’ve got the stuff on tap for gawd sake. So no surprises that their first Strange Tastes event was a rocking success. Round two is up this week with Margaret River’s Rosily Vineyard Chief Winemaker, Mike Scott leading the charge. No doubt this will be a sell out so get in quick and book tickets here.
Thursday 18 February
Chinese New Year Night Market & Lantern Festival Westfield Carousel
If you haven’t gotten in your fair share of lion dances and lanterns yet, you’re in luck. The Chinese New Year Night Market & Lantern Festival will involve Asian-inspired cocktails from the good people at Lucky Chan’s, along with baos, dumplings, bubble tea and general deliciousness from a huge range of food stalls. Chinese deliciousness at its best! You can find more info here.
