Titanic Exhibition: The Human Story

After a sold-out run in Brisbane, this acclaimed international exhibition, Titanic: The Human Story, is sailing right over to Perth this December. Unlike previous Titanic museums, this exhibit focuses on the authentic human stories behind the unsinkable ship that carved out such a chunk of our history.

Visitors will spend 90 minutes walking through full-scale recreations of the Titanic's interiors, guided by an audio narrative exploring the personal stories of passengers alongside immersive period music. There will also be handwritten letters, worn-in keepsakes, photographs and rare archival materials to paint the tragic picture. And maybe while you're there you can size up the doors to see if two people could've fit.

Even if you haven't seen Titanic yet (you should probably get on that), this is a beautifully insightful exhibition reminding us that real people are at the core of our historical stories. Tickets are available now from $26 for adults and $22 for kids.

Bird Years at Lawson Flats

Head into the city this autumn as renowned WA artist Anna Louise Richardson is taking over Lawson Flats with her new exhibition, Bird Years. This stunning exhibition is a deeply personal collection which traces how birds have intertwined their presence through critical moments of her life. It is her first solo commercial show in Perth, and it is truly captivating. 

Her large-scale drawings perfectly blend striking realism with stylised elements such as dramatic cut-out forms. Think mind-blowing pieces that turn familiar animals into huge emotional symbols of memory and place. It’s striking, moody, and the ultimate weekend culture fix in the heart of the CBD.

Footloose The Musical

Perth, this is your cue. Footloose The Musical is heading west for a limited run at the Regal Theatre, bringing its high-energy revival to Subiaco after sold-out seasons on the east coast. If you’re chasing a night out with big vocals, sharp choreography and a soundtrack you’ve had on repeat for years, this one’s an easy yes.

The story follows Ren McCormack—a city kid who lands in a town where dancing’s been banned—and what unfolds from there. Leading the cast is Gabriel Tiller, joined by Brittany Morton, Steven Hirst, Sophie Weiss and Rachael Beck. Expect a tight, fast-moving show packed with familiar hits—“Holding Out for a Hero”, “Let’s Hear It for the Boy” and, of course, “Footloose”.

Urban Food District

New food spot alert: Perth’s scored a cool Urban Food District packed with globe-trotting eats, buzzy bars and big late-night energy. Found in the Crown Perth precinct, this social playground is built for snacky catch-ups, casual pre-theatre sips, and post-game debriefs, perfect for event-goers at Optus Stadium.

Revealed Aboriginal Art Market

Revealed is rolling back into Boorloo this April, turning the Perth Cultural Centre into a colourful, culture-packed celebration of Aboriginal art. WA’s biggest Aboriginal art market and exhibition will see artists from across the state set up shop at WA Museum Boola Bardip on Saturday 18 April, while a major exhibition at PICA runs through to mid-June.

Expect everything from bold paintings and intricate fibre works to the rare chance to meet the artists behind them, plus a lively program of music, dance, talks and family-friendly happenings. Whether you’re hunting for a future heirloom or just keen for a wander among seriously good art, this is one of the city’s most vibrant cultural experiences.

Perth Roller Derby

Get ready for some high-energy chaos as Perth Roller Derby has just dropped its 2026 Home Season schedule. Swap your average night out to something action-packed with three legendary home teams. 

While the season kicked off on 9th May, the action continues with must-watch games on 25th July and 5th September. It all culminates with the grand finale on 10th October. So, keep up-to-date to find out who advances to the championship! 

Perth Roller Derby is about inclusivity, empowering communities, and having an epic night out. It is the absolute cornerstone of Perth’s indie sports scene and creates a space for athletes of all backgrounds to thrive. Head on down to Morley to catch this incredible atmosphere.

Fremantle WA Day Festival

A long weekend is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with live music, good food and waterfront vibes in Fremantle? The WA Day Festival is heading back to Freo this year, with Fishing Boat Harbour and Bathers Beach transforming into a massive all-day celebration packed with roaming performers, cultural showcases and family-friendly fun.

Highlights include Festival Carnivale at Bathers Beach, high-energy Latin music performances, dragon dances, Venetian-style performers and live bands spread across the precinct. There’ll also be a Welcome to Country and Corroboree led by Wadumbah Dance Group, alongside interactive family activities, storytelling sessions and hands-on workshops running throughout the day.

Naturally, food is playing a starring role too, with local vendors, food trucks and pop-ups serving global flavours all day long. Honestly, if your ideal long weekend involves sunshine, waterfront hangs and eating your way around Freo, this one’s worth locking in.

Perth’s favourite daytime party is officially back, as Rave & Brunch returns this winter for another round of pastries and partying. Returning to The Court on Sunday 21 June, expect this one to be bigger, and louder, than ever.

Depending on your package, brunch and bottomless bevvies kick off at 11am with your own curated brunch box, or skip the meal and head straight to the rave from 12.30pm.mExpect wall-to-wall 90s and 00s dance bangers from the likes of Darude, Snap!, Alice Deejay, Faithless, Cascada and Fedde Le Grand. Truffle Kerfuffle

Our beloved Truffle Kerfuffle is back on the menu for 2027, but this year it's looking a little different. After skipping last year, the cult festival is back with a new format and a very temping series of truffle-laden dining experiences across Manjimup and, for the first time, Perth.

The centrepiece remains two long-table dinners at Fonty’s Pool on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June, where fresh Périgord black truffles will feature across five-course feasts, each helmed by three WA culinary heavyweights, with names like Evan Hayter, Paul Iskov, James Higgs and Jessica Roe all stepping into the kitchen.

Plus, expanding beyond the Manjimup regiong for the first time means those of you who can't quite make the trip down south can still get in on the action with a brand new Perth metro dinner series taking place throughout July, with a curated lineup of restaurants each putting their own spin on the prized ingredient. They'll be announcing just where you can stuff your face very soon, so watch this space.

The cosy winter festival returns this July with its biggest program yet to celebrate ten years of fireside feasts, bold flavours and wine-fuelled weekends down south, with more than 40 events from 17–26 July. 

Alongside returning favourites like Blazing Brews, the iconic Cheese Toastie Battle and truffle-hunting experience Hair Of The Truffle Dog, this year’s lineup also includes a stacked roster of new events. Stormie Mills at The Art Gallery of Western Australia

The first solo exhibition by WA artist Stormie Mills is dropping at the gallery: All the secrets are buried between the oceans and the mountains. It captures contemporary urban culture, reflecting on his global movements, personal history, and the encounters that have shaped his practice. His street art is transformational - if you have walked around Perth, you would have spotted his iconic tag. Now, he is bringing this raw urban style inside the gallery walls for a high-impact, personal experience. 

Check out some of the headline pieces, including two 12-metre-long paintings. One channels the chaos of the oceans and the other the harshness of the mountains; together, they explore human vulnerability and resilience.

Gascoyne Food Festival

One of WA’s most spectacular regional food festivals is officially back, with the return of the Gascoyne Food Festival this Ausgust. Expect 16 days of immersive dining, storytelling and bucket-list-worthy travel experiences as the festival transforms the rugged Gascoyne region into a sprawling celebration of food, culture and place.

This year’s lineup includes some truly wild dining experiences, including The Plantation Feast in Carnarvon with Petition Kitchen’s Jessica Roe, Fireside Yarns with Fervor’s Paul “Yoda” Iskov, the outback-style Whalebone Hoe-Down in Exmouth and the iconic Bullara Station Feast. The festival wraps with Australia’s Last Sunset on Dirk Hartog Island, a remote dining experience at the edge of the continent that honestly sounds like the definition of a once-in-a-lifetime dinner party.

Alongside the major events, the Taste of the Gascoyne Food Trails will once again encourage visitors to eat their way through Shark Bay, Carnarvon and Exmouth as local venues hero regional produce.
