What's On In Perth This Month
Terracotta Warriors Exhibition at the WA Museum Boola Bardip
Image credit: WA Muesum | Instagram
Let’s be real: museums don’t always top the list when we’re planning weekend hangs—but this one hits different. The Terracotta Warriors have landed in Perth, and this once in a lifetime exhibition brings the most iconic symbols of Chinese heritage right in front of you. But it’s more than a history lesson—it's drinks, live music, cultural performances, hands-on art workshops, and next level Cantonese cuisine.
Jade Nights turns this exhibition into your next Friday night hang, with after-hours access, music, cultural performances and drinks. Dive into Oo-long Conversations led by expert guides, to enlighten yourself on Chinese culture, tombs, and immortality with a space to reflect.
If your idea of a good time leans more “taste buds” than “terracotta,” you’re in for a treat:
On the last Sunday of every month, Epoch Café serves up a three-course Yum Cha feast—classic Cantonese eats, flowing tea, and coffee—a sensory dream and the perfect prelude to your warrior walk-through, or Sunday Family Days, with sculpting and storytelling perfect for your the little warriors. And don’t sleep on the Guzheng Festival (October 19) — a free, one-hour showcase of over 100 musicians playing the ancient Chinese zither.

When: Saturday 28 June 2025 to Sunday 22 February 2026

Curated by Lilly Blue, 'Re-Play' basically flips the script on your traditional stand-and-look gallery experience. It’s basically like a playcentre, but it's free and for all ages—with vibrant colours, tactile installations this space is made to spark creativity, connection and a bit of chaos. Bring your little ones as an excuse to let loose (or just bring yourself - we're here for it!) and rediscover the joy of hands-on, screen free play. Craving a creative reset? This is your sign!

Fremantle Biennale

Image credit: Fremantle Biennale | Instagram
The Fremantle Biennale returns this Kambarang season, and it transforms Freo’s streets, waterways, and coastlines into living, breathing art spaces. This year’s theme, Sanctuary, unpacks what it means to seek and share spaces of care and resistance.
What does that actually translate to? Wrestling as performance art, a sound sauna, and a pink-lake-inspired installation you can walk through. Live mics are scattered across the port city, capturing the sounds of Freo (waves, wind, traffic, silence) and remixing them in real time. It’s a suburb wide takeover that brings out the best of Noongar art installations.
THE DETAILS:
When: Thursday 13 November to Sunday 30 November
Where: Across Fremantle

Check Out This Ancient Exhibit Lighting Up The City
Perth comes to life in a dazzling display of colour, light, and history.

Perth comes to life in a dazzling display of colour, light, and history, as the Lanterns of the Terracotta Warriors take over the city this summer. This international exclusive installation will see a collection of 80 towering silk lanterns, inspired by the legendary Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, transform Perth’s streets into a luminous tribute to ancient China, first lighting up Forrest Place until 9 November, then Elizabeth Quay from 22-26 November, and finally WA Museum Boola Bardip from 29 November-31 December.
Originally created for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and designed by the acclaimed artists of Beijing's Chaoyang District Cultural Centre, the iridescent creations fuse traditional Chinese “coloured lantern-making” with modern design, bringing one of the world’s great archaeological wonders to life under Perth’s night sky.
